I saw an early Trebek clip and it brought NPH to mind.
Guy tonight was âoriginally from Jackson Michiganâ and he pulls out his map and points during Johnnys intro.
Minus points for spreading his fingers apart.
Legit Midwesterner.
If I was in a war (like the old WWII movies) Iâd use it to detect German spies.
The old movie- they ask the new guy what did DiMaggio hit in â35. If the guy answers you shoot him cause DiMaggio wasnât in the league then.
In my case if the guy says heâs from Michigan and I say where from and he doesnt pull out his map heâs dead. âDetroitâ might get a pass.
Iâm from the middle knuckle.
And itâs âpopâ dammit.
I remember reading some short story where they did this but I think the question was something about the 3rd verse of the Star-Spangled Banner. The imposter was the one who got it correct, because no real Amercan would actually know that.
Good read
I donât know if The Chase is worth watching for the whole show because of all the fluff, but the the final chase is entertaining.
Skip to 35:30 to watch the contestants chase.
Skip to 39:10 to watch James Holzhauer crush souls.
Yeah, Jamesâ final chase was an absolute wafflecrush. I think in terms of pure trivia knowledge he blows Ken and Brad out of the water. Ken is faster on the buzzer and knows more about how Jeopardy clues flow
Brad got old. Peak Brad was the fastest to ever hold the buzzer. Current Brad is a shell of his former self.
Agreed. Iâm very interested to see how his knowledge base holds up in the final chase next week
This is rougher for the contestants not just because theyâre going up against James but because they have to buzz in before answering whereas James doesnât have to waste time doing that.
In general, the playersâ ability to knock the expert back if they can answer his missed question kinda makes up for that though (of course James would have to get one wrong first lol).
If the expert misses it, then it seems the chance of them getting it goes way down.
Didnât watch the original a ton, but I felt like with 2 or 3 players left they could do it at at least a 50% clip. Thereâs also that built in advantage of having the wrong answer ruled out if itâs one of those coinflip answers.
Maybe. Nevertheless, if I could pick one of the two advantages, Iâd take not having to wait to answer.
Contestants can blurt out the answer the instant they hit the buzzer. The point of the buzzer is mostly as the tiebreaker if two contestants say different answers at the same time.
A herald of Federalist headlines to come in the post-Trump era lol

Itâs like conservatives wake up and think, âWhat and how many unnecessarily shitty takes am I going to proclaim to the world today?â
