Holy shit and tonight another 3 for 3 wrong wagers!
They try out new hosts yet or are they running through a Trebek backlog?
Still Trebek
Trebek episodes end on Christmas day
Trebek was working until about 2 weeks before he died and the executive producer mentioned theyād air his final episodes unedited per Trebekās wishes so these last few weeks might be rough.
He sounded really bad on last nights episode. His voice was noticeably weaker and sounded like he had fluid in his lungs or something, but he powered through the episode like a champ. It was the first time that it really hit me that he has died and the new episodes are the last few he filmed.
I think that was the original plan. Below is the updated one.
- December 21 ā January 1: Alex Trebek 10 best episodes
- January 4: Last week of original Alex Trebek episodes
- January 11: Ken Jenningsā 1st week of guest host episodes
I thought all this week (obv 1 taping day) he seemed to have some struggle. Ryan shared on 2+2 that he noticed some weakness when the camera was off but that he rallied. He was surprised that he passed so soon.
Yeah, there was a huge outcry that a lot of people would miss his last episode because a lot stations preempt on Christmas Day and New Yearās Eve, for football or specials or what have you. Good solution.
Alex: Thomas Jefferson said, āI cannot live without [these]ā, and donated over 6000 of them to the library of congress upon his death.
Me: what are slaves
Would be interesting to see if they would cut this. Theyāve let some crazy stuff go but I think they cut it. Youād also have to pretend you had an incredible brainfart or they might give you the boot.
But it would be the all time greatest moment.
As soon as Alex says no Iād look over at the judges incredulously
A couple years ago, they had a clue that could have been a disaster.

Clue: In the U.S. this Agatha Christie mystery was known as āAnd Then There Were Noneā
Answer: What is āTen Little Indiansā?
Answer I would have given (NSFW language):
(Even worse, the defending champ was a black guy)
Omg is that real?
Yep, that was the original title. 1939 for you.
Oh of course, Indians. Indians.
Grandpa lived 4 years with pancreatic cancer, even went into remission at one point. But the end was long and slow. He fought hard. You basically just waste away at the end. I am amazed trebek was able to do it so close to the end.
The problem for me (had I been on the show that day) would have been that I wasnāt sure what the answer they wanted was. I was sure that it had been changed, but didnāt know to what (Indians? Children? Something else?)
But I was 100% sure of the original title.
So, yeah, had I been there, I would have Randy Marshed it.
