This. Was the same thing when he hosted Whose Line. No idea how he became a comedian, he seems constantly joyless
What he was great on Whose Line
Yeah thought he was a decently good host on Whose Line although my memories of it are vague and also enjoyed his sitcom for a few years.
This was how I felt, but the run is on HBO Max, so I watched a random episode from S2, and⌠he just seems genuinely disinterested.
Too lazy to look for the clip, but didnât some aspie dude nail the Showcase price to the exact dollar once, and Carey just deadpanned it when he read the price and then hustled off camera? I think they said he was convinced there was some fuckery going on and didnât want to seem like he was in on it, but it just seemed like the most bizarre way to handle it.
Why am I watching a rerun when there was a new episode monday?
If you enjoyed that documentary you will probably also enjoy the Michael Larson story. He beat Press Your Luck by figuring out patterns in the board lighting up.
Lol I remember watching that as a kid. Dude was the GOAT.
He was, but what he did with his winning was hilariously dumb iirc.
You mean cashing out hundreds of thousands in dollar bills to look for a unique serial number ISNT a smart idea?
On a scale of Stephen Hawking to Rudy Giuliani books a press conference at a lawn care company, it probably falls around a trump stares at a solar eclipse level of dumb. I mean I respect the hustle but leaving it all out to get stolen is so so dumb, especially for a guy who was smart enough to solve a game show.
does anyone else use hulu w/ live TV to record jeopardy? When I play monday or tuesdayâs episodes on my roku I get the price is right, but if I play it on my laptop I get jeopardy.
huluâs software quality has been going down pretty consistently, I get more and more weird playback errors even as theyâve been jacking up the prices
Iâm sure I posted this to the old 2+2 board, but Imma gonna post again.
When Josh was about 4 (and his brothers 6 and 7), I came home one day to find them playing Press Your Luck. They had drawn various prize pictures on pieces of papers laid out in a square. Josh would walk around the square saying âwoh-wahâ over and over until one of brothers said STOP. He would then flip over the nearest paper and declare the prize. Of course if it was a WHAMMY he would do a wild dance and take away all the papers from his brother.
One of my all time favorite memories.
Summary
I think many but not all know that I lost my son Josh at age 19 in a car accident.
that is such a great memory. Thanks for sharing, it made me smile as that is exactly the type of random game I would have made up at that age.
The FJ wagers last night were hall of fame worthy bad. Everyone did it wrong and the 3rd place player ended up winning by $100 out of pure luck.
