Jeopardy! Thread (No spoilers until after the show EST)

Is it me or are Arthur Chu and Alex Jacobs aging dramatically?

You’re against Amy Schneider. You have 6800 to her 10000 and you already found one daily double in the double jeopardy round. You find the second daily double in a 800 clue spot. How the fuck do you only bet 5000??

If you miss it you’re lost anyway. But there is always a chance that extra 1800 could cost. Sure enough Amy ends 200 ahead and they both got final jeopardy right. Just baffling a 19 game champ could still get that scenario wrong.

A friend of mine works for him. I’ll ask him if it’s the talk of the office this week.

Did lead to one of the more exciting ends to DJ I’ve seen though, so Ill take it, even though it was a monstrously bad wager

And the producers spot went to Amy. I still assume the producers choice was meant for Brad, but he must have turned it down. Brad was the only one it made any sense to skip to the finals.

If I had to redo the whole thing J masters would just be three people. The previous winner, TOC winner, JIT winner.

Rework the tournament format around that.

This might be overacting to day 1, but man this looks to be Yogesh v Groce v Holz for the finals. Yogesh and Groce came out middle fingers up lets go.

Somehow I didnt know Victoria was the same woman as the one from The Chase.

Shes very very good.

Her secret for practicing for the buzzer…

Yeah I dont know it either but I would at least take a guess of something like NYC or Baltimore.

Didn’t watch that one, but is Philadelphia too obvious?

Philadelphia is super obvious because it’s correct.

Yeah, I didn’t know the answer, but that would’ve been my guess.

Someone uploaded a whole bunch of old episodes onto usenet. I’ve watched the Season opener of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seasons. ('85-'87) It’s very striking how much Alex improves in those 3 years. And they go top down come hell or high water. The wagering is amazingly bad, and people ring in on the craziest guesses. Also the clues are wild. The of the day media trivia is crazy tough now.

For example under the Category: “Lewis” and “Clark” (people named Lewis or Clark), the answer is: The 2 stars of the sitcom “Different Strokes” who fit this category.

Emmanuel Lewis and Susan Clark

LOLOLOL who’s going to get that in this day and age. If you get the chance, go back and watch an episode or 2. I might watch 1 or 2 a day for awhile.

Emmanuel Lewis was the star of “Webster.” Gary Coleman was the star of “Diff’rent Strokes.”

It’s been so long I can’t remember them apart. (Yes, I’m old enough to have watched both shows in original run).
The clue was of course Webster. Just went back, and it was a $500 clue in single jeopardy, and it was the Daily Double.
