Jeffrey Epstein and Associates

Much like the JFK assassination, people would be more willing to accept the simple answer if everyone involved wasn’t involved in so many shady dealings. It’s a tough sell to be like “yeah the us dept of justice basically helped cover up rampant child rape for decades with this guy, possibly (probably) involving US presidents and foreign royalty, but trust us when we tell you he died in a totally non-suspicious way while our fill-in security guards took a nap”

Except who has proposed a reasonable alternative solution.

Just saying “No it wasn’t” isn’t an argument against the suicide claim. A person who is going to doubt the suicide needs to put forth a realistic alternate to go against that. All I’ve read anywhere as of now (I haven’t read every post itt) is a bunch of conspiracy mongering about body doubles and people sneaking into the prison to do him in.

I’m not sure why you need a good alternate solution to point out that there are a lot of good reasons to doubt the official story.

Like, nobody is going to be able to parse out specifics of a coverup based on the media coverage. There are plenty of feasible explanations that are out there, with the most obvious being that somebody convinced the guards to leave Epstein alone for several hours, either by paying them or by paying someone up the chain of command who made sure it happened, and communicated those plans to Epstein ahead of time.

It’s entirely possible to think both that he killed himself and that the official account of things is partially false or at least wilfully incomplete.

That’s it exactly

This makes it sound like Barr was totally going to use him as the Pizzagate foundation.

Don’t worry the acting Bureau of Prisions has just been put back into his old position, it’s a Newyork Shuffle. :man_dancing:

KILLARY odds ratio just went waaaaay up.

So, two days before he died, Epstein filed a will in the Virgin Islands leaving his assets to a trust with unknown beneficiaries. Should be fun watching the conspiracy theories about who gets the money.

Seems like a pretty rational thing to do if one is planning to kill oneself.

So when the victims sue and win, the lol defense lawyers get paid off the top before they can recover, right?

This is something I’m woefully ignorant about, but if he put the money directly in a trust before he died rather than leaving it to a trust in his will, I wonder if that affects whether plaintiffs can recover against it.

If it’s not a contingency case, which it wouldn’t be for a defense, then they will be paid monthly out of the defendant’s assets. In this case the defendant would be the estate (as the claims arose before the trust went into effect), or maybe the trust (the issue could get a bit complex and I don’t know much about that area). I’m sure plaintiffs can bring a motion that the estate or trust not waste or distribute assets prior to final resolution, but legal fees would typically be at the discretion of the executor/trustee, who will nevertheless be motivated not to spend down the assets, particularly assuming some will be left over after victims are paid.

Just doing normal Prince stuff I’m sure.

So, “yes.”

Is the “of sound mind” thing just for tv or could a relative challenge the will by claiming obviously not rational because he was suicidal?

The Epstein spinoff is so much better than the Trump Show. Writing and pacing is A+.

It’s basically just for TV. I think the standard if if you are aware of what you are doing, eg, writing a will.
