Great start to the weight loss. Stick with it
06-June-2020: 2504 calories
A bit of an alcohol induced blow up last night after having a solid day through dinner.
Walked 3 miles on easy trail.
07-June-2020: 1767 calories
18-June-2020: 1747 calories
Got duped by pita bread nutrition info on the package. Thought a serving was 1 pita and it was a half a pita. And I had 1 at lunch and 1 at dinner so my carbs and calories are higher than I originally expected today. (Was going to eat some Greek yogurt later but I’ll pass now.)
Great to see you back!
I’m getting back to logging starting today. I’ll jump on the scale and record my weight tomorrow morning. I’m likely right back where I was over a year ago. The last 6-8 months have been difficult, and the last 2 months nearly brutal. But I’m past the worst of it now and ultimately there are always excuses to be found.
For now I’m going to focus on averaging 1800 calories and logging daily at least long enough to get the habit going again. I’ll worry about details of macro breakdowns and adding in exercise after I get the logging habit reestablished.
09-Aug-2020: 1594 calories
So 250 pounds this morning. I’m going to record my weight officially on Friday mornings like I did earlier in my log.
10-Aug-2020: 1683 calories
11-Aug-2020: 1703 calories
12-Aug-2020: 1659 calories
13-Aug-2020: 1773 calories
247 pounds this morning, so down 3 (likely mostly water weight) from Monday.
14-Aug-2020: 1782 calories
If the macros look weird it’s because a large number of the calories is whiskey. Skipped breakfast and had a light dinner. Had a bunch of salmon at lunch to at least get protein to a reasonable number knowing I was going to hit the sauce later.
15-Aug-2020: 1779 calories
16-Aug-2020: 1535 calories
Arghhhhhhhhhh
It all went downhill with a bottle of wine. Well actually two bottles of wine, but that’s a small detail…
Yeah I have to keep trying. But laying off the wine is going to be hard considering it’s like my only hobby at the moment.
Well, this isn’t going well.
And I’m honestly sure what to do or what different things to try. Tracking calories is really tedious, and even when I get into really good grooves with it, eventually I drop it. But other diets that “trick” you into eating fewer calories are just as tedious, and in a lot of cases less healthy than just eating a somewhat normal diet but maintaining discipline with calorie counting.
I actually do know exactly what to do, eat fewer calories and get some exercise. I just don’t know how to motivate myself to do it, nor do I have enough discipline to maintain it over the long run. At least not right now.
