A lot of the carbs are wine.
I’m thinking seriously about giving up wine/alcohol for a few months. I think it would give me a bit of a shove and I could probably lose 12 kg which would be 10% of my bodyweight. Would you be interested at all in doing this with me?
Sorry, it would probably help me, and I hate to say no if it would also help you because I really want you to succeed. But right now wine is one of the only things outside of family that gives me any pleasure and that I look forward to.

Weighed in at 245 pounds this morning. Only 9 pounds less than when I started this log. Hopefully I can drop 10 more pretty fast before I get into the grind of 1 pound per week.

We planned to have homemade flatbread pizzas for dinner, which have a lot of calories, so I actually ate a light breakfast and lunch. But I still ended up about 200 calories higher than I wanted. The mistake was using pesto instead of red sauce. My wife and daughter wanted pesto, and I didn’t want to open a jar of pizza sauce just for myself and have the rest of it go to waste. That was kind of dumb because it’s only $3 or something like that. Anyway, I nixed the pinot noir I was going to drink with dinner and had diet coke instead.
Includes half a bottle of Oregon pinot noir. Will be walking again tomorrow. The last two days I had late meetings and missed the trail walk with my daughter and wife.
