ITV: Impeachment Television

Yep. We still haven’t learned anything we didn’t already know. You can’t just break down the denials/defense of Trump’s behavior and expect that to get the GOP to flip on him. They’ll just move on to the next thing and you’ll be playing whac-a-mole until the elections. The meat of the Ukraine stuff was made public months ago, and the GOP decided they were going to stand strong. Barring new information, this isn’t changing.

Short of a recording of Trump saying he specifically wants Ukraine’s help in the 2020 election, I don’t really see anything related to Ukraine that’s going to move the needle.

That wouldn’t change anything either.

The guy who is suing a fake cow on twitter is at a loss for words. A momentary lapse, certainly.

Nunes looked physically ill after that, I have no idea what to expect in this 2nd half.

I enjoyed Sondland’s bait and switch at the opening of his statement. Once again, someone uses the GOP’s own words against them.

He starts off saying this whole thing has been completely unfair and biased and improper. Nunes was probably frothing at the mouth until he read on and saw Sondland was referring not to the Do Nothing Dems but to the White House and State Department’s refusal to cooperate with the inquiry and associated subpoenas. They wouldn’t even let Sondland access his own emails and documents to “refresh” his memory.

It was his one shot to throw someone under the bus for his lies or misstatements or whatever you want to call them.

Did you even watch? Sondland threw 20 people under the bus and lit the White House on fire. There are plenty of things we learned in the past 2 hours.

There’s gonna be a lot more subpoena’s dished out

Let me put it this way. The republicans damn well knew there was a very real chance that Trump had directed all of this, and that everyone in his inner circle was part of it. They decided to stand by him anyways. I’m sure they wanted to keep as many details as possible buried as they could, and have failed at that, but I’m sure this was one of the outcomes they knew could happen when they decided to board the Trump train, and I don’t see them getting off.

edit: the current Fox News headline is “Sondland never heard from Trump on quid pro quo” We don’t got him.

To this end (the 10-20%) the Dems suck at messaging. Every time the GOP says impeachment overturns an election, the response should be, “Mike Pence was also elected. The day Trump is removed, a Republican president will be sworn in. We’ll overturn that part next November.”

It’s true even if you impeach Pence because we all know they’d broker a compromise VP appointment.

LOLLLLLLL Nunes.

At least he’s providing a nice case for motive on Trump’s part for doing the crimes.

“I understand your point, chairman.” Says Sondland after Nunes’s rambling opening, thus clearly exposing himself as a liar. Nunes just out leveled him

lol nunes is using a disparaging message on Facebook and Twitter by a Ukrainian minister as something concerning? Great standard Nunes, lets apply it to your buddy!

True. We all know the eventual endgame here is “No harm, no foul. This isn’t worth impeaching over. Let the people decide in the 2020 election.”

An election which the Republicans will continue trying to rig through all the normal methods, and probably some foreign interference from the Russians.

They’re going with the “Ukraine bad, Russia good” argument?
