I can’t be arsed to scroll up and find the exact quote but I think his position is that a “significant percentage” are confused or “social contagioned” or whatever the fuck he wants to call it. If that percentage is something like 50%, then yeah, he can GTFO. But if it’s like 5%, that doesn’t seem crazy. Is 5% significant? Maybe? I know I still feel nervous trying to dodge a 2-outer in a big pot, so it could be.
I swear part of the “social contagion” bullshit from simp and the like just comes from that really dumb and recurring fallacy about how when they were kids, you barely heard about trans people at all, therefore it must be “getting trendy” to become trans and some kids are getting the weak-minded confused ones all riled up, or something. Couldn’t possibly be because with more social awareness comes more kids realizing what the deal is by the time they’re tweens, rather than feeling weird their whole lives and then having an “oh duh” moment at 47 and transitioning then.
And it’s really stupid because we see this same fallacy over and over. “There were no autistic kids in my school before this fad of diagnosing everybody!!” (but we had “weirdos” who got shuffled off to the Resource Room after homeroom and were never seen the rest of the day). “When I was a kid nobody had these stupid peanut allergies that kill you if you breathe on them after eating a sandwich!” (but we had like four kids in grade school that mysteriously “choked to death” during lunch). “Those gay people are everywhere now but I never met a single one growing up!” (just lots of folks who never married and lived with the same roommate for 40 years).
It’s actually far less. Only about 0.4% eventually realize they aren’t trans. This has been studied for a long time.

There are two separate issues being conflated here, both completely pointless of course.
First should “the Democrats” do pro trans like outreach or something? I mean not sure you’ve noticed but dems have zero power to do anything right now and even if they did there’s nothing you or I or anyone could do to change their behaviour. If dems responded to popular pressure then bernie would be cruising through his second term right now (or dead from a cia heart attack gun) and they wouldn’t have forced a senile old man whose major claim to fame was having a black friend who was pretty popular onto us.
Secondly, should simp and friends be able to voice his super srs concerns about you know the sanctity of womens sports or whatever without getting called names? Which like go anywhere else on the internet dude. Even the nyt comments section support you apparently so post your nuanced takes about children’s genitals over there maybe.
That still makes no sense to me. I would be thoroughly embarrassed to enter a women’s sports competition because I wasn’t good enough to compete against men. Likewise, I’m never dressing or acting feminine just because. And even if there are people who do that, so what? Let them imo

Right so if we assume 1% of people are trans and 0.4% of them de-transition we are taking about less than 13,000 people in the whole county. Which is like 0.004% of the US population.

No that’s not it. My understanding is the proponents of the “social contagion” nonsense will tell you that all this trans stuff out there has truly convinced some cis people that they are trans. They have somehow been confused by society into thinking they are something that they are not. But they truly believe it. So when they compete with women, it is because they truly believe they are women. They are not lying, they are just confused. And if only someone could unconfuse them, then everything would be fine.
Hip night clubs were all about gender neutral bathrooms back in the 1980s. Even in Texas. But I haven’t seen it be a thing in a while.

A lot of people on this forum have missed a lot especially when they just assumed someone who they thought of as a serious person (often because of credentials, job, money) was in the right and whoever had a problem with them should just get banned already.
