All systems are vulnerable to the rot of fraud and power so I guess nothing matters.
I mean, if nuking a message board ruins your investment, it probably wasn’t a very good investment.
I’m all for hedge funds losing money but let’s not pretend the incel Reddit bros are being screwed by taking away their pump and dump propaganda outlet.
Clvs was up 7% in after market. I was picking out interior for my Lamborghini. Now all my dreams are shattered😭
Boiler rooms are praxis
M4A for the lulz!!!
Glass-half-full, since it wasn’t on Reddit radar yet, it really didn’t drop much at all in the past hour.
Nah the people screwed are people like my friend who watches the news and hears about this and picks up a few hundred dollars worth of stock on Robin Hood (how appropriately named). I tried to tell him not to, but he’s convinced he can run it up and sell it.
That reminds me of ~2009ish when GM declared bankruptcy and their stock went down to like $.02 or something. My friend sold all of his stuff and bought $10,000 worth because “when they’re back in business I’m gonna be a millionaire.” I tried to tell him it didn’t work that way, but people are stupid with money and see something like this and try to jump on the bandwagon with zero understanding of what’s going on.
It is a pretty hypocritical that hedge funds running a stock to 140% short float and putting out their propaganda presentations to try and tank stocks is fine and dandy but shoes on the other foot… Ah we better step in here.
Amazing. “Recalibrate their positions”. What does this even mean? They are going to let the big guys trade while the stock is halted?

My friend just called me to tell me he put his whole Roth in AMC at $4.75…god damn.
Can we get a report on your friend’s last 24 hours?
r/wallstreetbetsnew running fine
Yeah, and from what I read GameStop employs something like 40k people and the excessive shorting had really hampered them and put a lot of those jobs at risk.
People are stupid and trying to get everyone to agree to do the right thing for the right reasons seems like a failing proposition. Might as well give them the wrong reason and trick them into doing it for the lulz.
Could someone put into dummy language what shorting 140% of a company means? I think it has something to do with the number of shares in existence but can’t fully wrap my head around it and how that is potentially predatory/damaging to a company.
The fact it happened pretty concurrently with the same thing happening to their Discord also makes it look worse.
