One of the more dystopian things ive ever done is bought a textbook on urban warfare tactics today that i came across and wanted to add to my small collection of weird niche topics. normally I’d say it’s a topic of fascination for me, but i started thinking after i got it there could be a world where that knowledge could come in handy in the next decade. waaf

Totally normal.

And the irony is that 100% of these ICE agents would describe themselves as ā€œmen of god.ā€

Yeah Apple majorly disappoints here protecting ice from apps that track them. Bad stuff Apple.

Former Apple employee writes open letter to Tim Cook about it.

tim apple literally gave big daddy a ā€œU R THE BEST PRESIDENT EVERā€ solid gold major award trophy of course he’s deleting apps

Ya we won’t need a truth and reconciliation commission because POTUS just happily tweets the most extreme examples of violence and cruelty. T&R only makes sense when a shadow genocide happens.

We never had a Truth and Reconciliation process for anything that happened during the Iraq War, everyone just shrugged and moved on. Maybe CNN will hire Steven Miller as a consultant when Trumpism is over.

lol truth and reconciliation this isn’t some aberration this is literally the preferred democratically enacted wishes of the people

It’s a well written letter. But Cook personally gave Trump a million dollars. He is not ā€œbetter than this.ā€ Neither is Apple. This isn’t the first time it has fallen short of its supposed ideals. I’m not sure Jobs would do any better, if he were still around.

Jobs would be way worse. He was a truly awful human.

Seriously flawed but he had principles. A jerk but at least he wasn’t all about money. Larry Ellison couldn’t understand that about him.

Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, which includes ICE, did not respond to specific questions from LAist or agree to an interview.

In a statement, she wrote that ā€œICE is not denying any illegal alien access to proper medical care or medications.ā€ McLaughlin said it was ā€œlongstanding practice to provide comprehensive medical care from the moment an alien enters ICE custody.ā€

She added that she hoped LAist ā€œwould consider NOT writing this garbageā€ in the wake of the recent shooting outside an ICE detention center in Texas, where one detainee was killed and two injured.

ā€œThese types of smears are contributing to our officers facing a 1000% increase in assaults against them,ā€ she wrote.

Another Kavanaugh stop

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as ā€œwar-torn,ā€ it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

A video of a reporter covering the army of frogs that are in Portland for support. They do show a clip of ICE clearing the road to let a car out and I have to admit it’s pretty silly to see some guys in full kit trying to shepherd an inflatable unicorn out of the road.

Unleash the mascots. They’re our only hope.
