Yeah there could be huge changes in track if it waits to turn north. If it goes north sooner it will be extremely bad for Ja.
I think most of the tracks show it eventually turning east. Just a matter how bad Jamaica and Cuba get hit.

Montego Bay is probably going to get wiped out if this track holds. This is so bad.
18-24 inches of rain is predicted for the entire island with locally larger amounts.

This is a storm that may cause mass loss of life in Jamaica.
After having my life completely turned upside down by two Cat 5 direct hits in the last three years, I’m just fucking sick to my stomach about this. Not drowning is only a small part of getting through these, and that’s if you have means. I don’t wish it on anyone

The worst part of it is the island cannot stand even 1.5 to 2 inches of rain without massive flooding damage. This is going to be as bad as it gets and many of the structures there aren’t strong and are very old. A lot of other ones are made of concrete and will survive. It’s more that the flooding is going to present huge problems and no one has anywhere to go for safety from it. Plus the track is continuously changing.
The worst hurricane the island faced was Gilbert, which was extremely bad. It was apparently a cat 3 but it went directly over the island from east to west. This will likely be stronger than that, and it’s still up in the air where it’s going to hit. Supplies are already gone from all shelves.
All I can think of is Katrina.

They’ve revised Kingston’s potential rain totals to 24-36 inches. 
It appears the public officials are already botching it with saying, ‘oh it’s moving so slow’. This storm is going to explode sometime between late Saturday night and Sunday morning and it just feels like they’re not going to be prepared. They’re apparently refusing to send in monitors for shelters and not opening up enough shelters. This is going to be so so bad. I have very little optimism about it unless the turn is just nothing like the projection when it gains hurricane strength.
Jeebus.
