Nope because I don’t know or care how many I’ve got. When you get to know someone their skin colour pretty much disappears. So please fuck right off with your stupid insults.
Feel like answering any of the questions about what you understood “ghetto” to mean in the 80s, what you understand it to mean today, why you thought it was called a ghetto blaster instead of a boom box, etc? Like, it’s a totally non racist thing in the UK so you must have totally non racist connotations for those things
i wrongly assumed that the wirelessbro2 comment was because of your accusations that cuse was calling you racist, my bad i misinterpreted that and didn’t see that it was in regard to the comment from an hour ago
but just so I’m clear this is the comment you’re referring to as cuse accusing you of being a racist right? just want to be on the same page
This sums up the whole problem with American arguments itt. Why would I compare myself to the treatment of some scummy American racist? Most people in the UK would not havea fucking clue what Heritage Not Hate means. I’m only aware of it because of the wirelessbro thread.
I guess you’re going to scurry off to google now to see if you can find some far right article in a UK rag citing it lol.
No, sir, the best bit is that you don’t realize that you’re borrowing all of the deplorables’ arguments on why they can use the n-word, why their Confederate flag isn’t racist, etc, etc… How does it feel to use the same argumentative tactics of the assholes with Confederate flags defending racist statues? It must just make you feel all warm and fuzzy and superior!
I’m going to go with, uhh, yesterday? Since then you’ve spent a significant amount of time defending your right to use the word.
Some people, when confronted with the issues in using a pejorative, admit they were wrong and change. Others double down and say “black people say it toooo!!!”
LOL… Realizing certain defeat, jalfrezi finds an opportunity to grab a football off the sidelines, spike it, declare victory and race into the locker room. GJGE!
Fuck off lol… I particularly enjoy that you think I don’t own a passport and have never left the country.
I mean, I could be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure you’ve been unleashing a tirade of ad hominems in this thread. Like, maybe I missed something, but I feel pretty confident in this since they were mostly directed at me. I am also extremely confident that you started the ad hominems, and while I reacted in kind for a little while yesterday, I’ve been avoiding them since… You just keep on going, which is fine, I don’t really care… until you start calling other people out for using ad hominem attacks.
Then I just have to laugh at you.
Yep. But it all comes back to his entire reason for posting on this forum. He would rather die on this hill than to give up his perceived moral and cultural superiority over the boorish Americans.
My first post was “That’s an interesting choice of words.”
I then said that the term was dripping with racism. You’re the one who took it as an accusation that you, yourself, were racist. I didn’t go there until you started using the entire playbook of racists’ defense tactics for their racism. At that point, you left me no choice.
“That’s an interesting choice of words.”
SoMe InStIgAtOr CaLlEd Me A rAcIsT!!!
You could just be like, “Oops, didn’t realize that word was racist, I’ll stop using it.”
I legit laughed out loud at this.
Yep, even when I started comparing him to the likes of wirelessbro, it was because he was playing all the hits.
“Black people use the word too!”
“You just don’t understand the connotation of the word in my culture!”
“It wasn’t racist back in the 80’s!”
“I’m not going to change my vocabulary just so your sensitive feelings don’t get hurt, snowflake!”
When you act like the change you say you want to see and apologise for insinuating I was lying about HNH/wirlessbro2 thing that was actually your error.
? The point is you were being treated like wirelessbro2 at that point because you spent 100 posts acting like him. The conversation started in a very civil way, you doubled down over and over again, it was then pointed out that you’re using the same arguments as southern US racists, and you acted like that was completely out of line.
I don’t even know what you mean when you say I insinuated you were lying.
The hubris of demanding apologies after your performance in this thread is spectacular. Nobody has falsely characterized your position, while you have repeatedly lied about what was said to start this. You started ad hominem attacks, then complained about others doing the same.
You claimed victory while clearly getting destroyed in the debate, then decided to come around and demand apologies?
LOL
You: Maybe if he had pointed out the word was racist in America, instead of calling me racist, I would have reacted differently.
Me and Others: That’s exactly what he did, see?
You: THIS IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM WITH YOU AMERICANS!!!
Yes, like my dislike of jalfrezi is well documented and not just in this thread. Despite that, I addressed him in a civil and non-accusatory manner when pointing out the term initially. I made it clear that I was calling the term racist, not him, and even gave him the out of possibly not understanding the racism of it (even though it should be pretty obvious to someone as enlightened as him). I thought, hey, I should point that out, this guy probably wouldn’t want to keep using it. I’ll try to refrain from dunking on him right away, given our history, and give him a chance to handle it well.
I mean, sure, I was like 10% snide, but given our past interactions I think that’s as good as he’s ever going to get from me.
Jalfrezi responded with a nuclear meltdown that will forever tarnish his reputation here.
God this has become so absurd it’s actually put a broad smile on my face. I mean, at no point have I (or would I want to) deny the racism present in the use of that phrase in the US, because a) I’m happy to believe posters here and b) when you think for a few seconds about it it does make sense.
