Well under that. This chart breaks out only immigrants and children with at least one immigrant parent, but you nearly get to 30% just with them:
Itâs almost certainly under 60%, and I wouldnât be too surprised if itâs under 50%. There arenât a lot of studies that break things down that far, though, because for most demographers, 3rd generation immigrants are considered native-born Americans.

Hmm, so by the definition provided, I am first-generation, as I moved here at age 2. However, I left the country with my wife and my daughter was born overseas as well. We live in America again, and are citizens, but is my child also first-generation?

Were you a US citizen when your daughter was born, and was she a citizen at birth? If no, Iâd say that both of you are first generation.
MrsWookie was born abroad, but to US citizen parents, and she has a birth certificate given by the State department marking her a citizen at birth, so Iâd consider her native born, even if she can earn some surprised reactions when talking about where she was actually born.
True, she received a US citizenship, as a foreign born birth. So accordingly, she is a 2nd generation and ânative bornâ.

even if you knew there was a legit hostage situation and could be 100% confident that itâs not some choad swatting this guy, is banging on the door with a whole crew of dudes with guns drawn the correct play? Seems like that would just escalate when you should be de-escalting

Cops want to go out and bang on doors and shoot their guns. The call is just a convenient excuse.

Yeah this is my kids as well. Born in Germany but US citizens at birth through me. We live here now but theyâre certainly not immigrants to the US. Theyâve never been citizens of Germany.
I guess the silver lining of swatting is that if there is enough swatting, maybe police will be more cautious when responding, which would be a better thing for both legit and fake calls, imo. But then again, maybe not. These fuckers love shooting people.
