I think there were more Democratic Party Nazis than Republican. Here’s one:

Somewhere in my brain I remembered that Ford ran for the senate, but I had no idea that Wilson talked him into running. I would have missed that Jeopardy question lol.
Still, the best part of that cartoon is the suggestion that 19th century Democrats held Republicans in respectful regard. That’s quite a reading of history.

Lincoln made the white pride types too ashamed to be GOP until the Southern Strategy a hundred years later, and still that was a process that took decades to get them all to switch

I remember seeing Loretta Lynn in concert like 20 years ago, and she kept going on rants about how we need prayer back in schools. Even in the middle of one song, just stopped singing and went back off on that. And I was like Jesus Christ, I can’t even escape this shit at a concert. I wondered if I would outlive that insanity. I was more optimistic back then
