I hope so. But in the meantime, itâs devastating for trans people to hear the rhetoric. I try to live above it but canât help but feel affected, especially when âlosing issueâ doesnât mean itâs not without supporters.

Vance is claiming that parents are pushing their kids to be trans in order to get into Ivy League colleges? From his Rogan interview via NYT:
Mr. Vance criticized transgender and nonbinary people at length during the conversation, saying that he would not be surprised if he and his running mate, former President Donald J. Trump, won what he called âthe normal gay guy vote.â And he suggested that children in upper-middle-class white families saw becoming trans as a way to improve their odds of getting into Ivy League colleges.
âIf you are a, you know, middle-class or upper-middle-class white parent, and the only thing that you care about is whether your child goes into Harvard or Yale, like, obviously, that pathway has become a lot harder for a lot of upper-middle-class kids,â Mr. Vance told Mr. Rogan. âBut the one way that those people can participate in the D.E.I. bureaucracy in this country is to be trans.â
Itâs baffling to me that Republicans have built this reputation of âWeâre the party of lower taxes and keeping you safe.â And now instead of that relatively appealing message, theyâre hammering âRemember that gay people and trans people are icky. (And weâre not huge fans of women either.)â

Was watching the Daily Show yesterday and they had a piece where they found 6 Hispanic Trump voters and showed them clips of crazy shit he said. They kept increasing the intensity until there was one with him saying that Latin Americans that crime âin their genesâ.
Did that change their minds? Of course not.
