GOP insanity containment thread 3: more human than strom thurman

Politics unclear

LOL wat? Hypocrisy is just saying one thing and doing another; ie lying. Why do you care about hypocrisy when you don’t care about the actual lying? Maybe your cultural baggage has you caring more about appearances than actual truth?

Sovereign Citizens are way off the wackadoodle scale. Watch some YouTubes of them trying to get out of traffic tickets or other court appearances. They put more faith in crazy internet “experts” than on actual lawyers, judges, and cops.

This is the post I replied to to start this discussion.

I love that every good faith and friendly discussion is called a dumpster fire or some post asking for it to stop gets like 10 likes.

I guess I’ll go back to only posting memes.

I come across sovereign citizen body cam footage from time to time. I always watch. They seem so practiced with their nonsense responses.

This is pretty extreme. You wouldn’t vote for Kamala if you found out she cheated on an ex?

What would make you think Kamala doing one thing disqualifying for public office in my mind would outweigh Trump, who has done the same thing over and over plus a million other things.

I don’t think most of us consider it a dumpster fire. And did anyone ask you to stop?

(I do appreciate the discussion even if I think you’re very, very wrong on this)

It’s a major disqualifier, though not as big of a disqualifier as being a Republican, which would trump any cheating.

Those two aren’t the same thing at all. I don’t mind a good dumpster fire now and then. Carry on.

Still at zero right now, so we have a way to go. I kind of doubt we will there, but I guess we will find out!

As I mentioned, I hadn’t read everything, so I missed that. Now I’m curious if Kerowo meant that literally.

@kerowo :
Let’s say our Presidential Election is David Duke (R) vs Kamala Harris (D). It’s a very close race. We have excellent evidence that Duke has never cheated but Kamala cheated on Doug once. In this hypothetical all of their policy positions are the same as what they are in real life. Are you sitting this one out or voting for Duke instead of voting Harris if you live in a swing state and it’s a close race?

I didn’t mind that discussion at all, and anyone complaining about it can eabod

I wonder if my wife would consider eating a bag of dicks “cheating”.

A Republican Party candidate from Virginia has admitted that he ‘borrowed’ his friend’s wife and children to pose with him for a ‘family photo’, which was later circulated by the National Republican Congressional Committee as part of the campaign.

Derrick Anderson, GOP’s House candidate from Virginia’s 7th district, posted a photo of himself with a woman and children which appears to be a family photo. In another photo, Anderson can be seen with the same group of people sitting in a dining space.

However, Anderson, who is engaged as per his campaign, does not have a wife or children. His website states that he lives alone with his dog.

Psychopathic behavior. This guy probably has all kinds of skeletons in his closet.

Probably wouldn’t stop me from voting for Harris, actually, wouldn’t be close to costing me my vote. Pragmatically, David Duke being in office is worse than a democrat that cheated on their spouse. It gets to be more interesting if the difference in the candidates isn’t so stark. I can’t think of a moderate republican that would make it that interesting, but if the choice was closer, or in a primary or something, I could see it making the difference. It is one of those things that is only important if someone asks about it, but it isn’t the lens I view everyday activity through.

Typical cheater

@clovis8 , so you got a problem with this?

Ok, bad example.

Perhaps a better one. If you had the choice between young Bernie (or whoever else is your all-time favorite presidential candidate, real or potential) and Biden, and you found out Bernie cheated on an ex in college - would you vote for Biden?

Personally I gotta agree with Clovis here. I would never not vote for a politician because they cheated once, obviously depending on circumstances. The same would go for other minor crimes and bad behavior.
