Yes, but at some point they switched to a smaller size with a glossy cover, so it feels more like a magazine and less like a tabloid. It’s just not the same.

Putin is incredibly consistent with culture war belligerence. From his perspective, Russia was broken up due to Bolshevik catering to identity politics, allowing the creation of fake republics that were allowed to become fake countries when the Soviet Union fell. It is natural for conservatives to fall in on the side of Russia because they don’t want to see various identities gaining power at the expense of a white, Christian version of America. A defense of Ukraine is a defense of identity politics.
I think most American conservatives are not this advanced in their thinking. They couldn’t find Ukraine on a map so they are in no way aware of Ukrainian/Russian identity politics. They just crave a leader that is a tough talking asshole that equates bullying with strength, and they instinctively support Putin because they would love an American Putin that invades countries and threatens to nuke people (or hurricanes). Their idea of a leader is a strong bully that can beat up their perceived enemies, while they stand behind him cheering them on.

if this was published last year, it would be about 5 years too late. what good are op-ed pages if they literally give a fraction of actionable intelligence than decades old pokerforum posts? what is the point of sending them to the times, if they get drowned out by twitter and facebook bots approximately 99% of the time?
