This looks more like everywhere turning into the South. Sure, we’d hate being in rural Mississippi, but how many of us could get by living in a southern city like Charlotte or Memphis?

If you want to see authoritarian technocracy done semi right you don’t have to go back very far… it’s modern China.
Right now the ideological battle is between their version of what government looks like and ours. Right now they are absolutely crushing that competition.

I don’t think the US has the moral high ground on the subject of how we treat ethnic minorities. At best it’s a tie, but if we’re being honest with ourselves it isn’t. We have a prison industrial complex with a much higher overall % of the population in chains than the Chinese… and the people who are in that prison industrial complex are substantially minorities.
The only thing the Russian propagandists have right is that we really aren’t any better. There are no good guys is the most charitable way to describe us and our empire honestly.
This country was founded on genocide and slavery, we really have no business claiming that we’re on the side of righteousness.
So given all of that I’d rather live in a country run by a single party that is fairly technocratic and treats the idiots the way they deserve to be treated… as though their opinions are worth less than nothing and need to be repressed. I used to think so called civil liberties were a good thing, but that was before living through the last 20 years of American politics culminating in a COVID response that is a straight no chaser crime against humanity. 625k+ people and counting have died in a country with a population of 330M to a preventable disease. We probably racked up a bigger body count in the war on terror than the Chinese have in their current genocide.

Absolutely without any hesitation. I’m for barring most of our current leaders from office on a variety of grounds. Mostly that they have personality disorders or are too old.
I think the mandatory retirement age for everyone should be no higher than 65, 62 for any position of power. I think we should be screening anyone with a personality disorder out of any position of power as well. I think the vast majority of our current leaders have personality disorders because I think our ‘meritocracy’ is selecting for people with personality disorders currently.
