It is the cheat code to life. It’s kind of like being a complete sociopath in business. My biggest frustration in life is the ease with which complete pieces of shit so often glide through without any shame or accountability.

I mean, its pretty much the definition of selling your soul. There is no pointy pitchfork devil offering a faustian trade, but if you give up all morals and sense of decency, you can be a very rich person.
Too many people find this to be a fair trade, cause, ya know, capitalism and shit.

I still don’t see why the Senate was unanimous in support of Juneteenth. As an argument against an election day holiday? “Oh, too many holidays already! We just gave you one!” I’d consider a counter of moving another holiday to election day. I see several possibilities.

I don’t think King would mind it’s not on his birthday. Columbus Day could be renamed and moved, who cares. Veterans Day already close by.

This is true, but I must admit I just don’t get how it works.
I’ve seen people that are obviously not very competent, generally unethical, and literally no one who works closely with them likes them even a little. How the fuck does someone like that rise to the top? I know it happens all the time. But how?
