That’s odd, usually people leave cults when they realize the cult isn’t providing the fulfillment or happiness that the cult promises. I would expect some people would eventually wander out of Q because it definitely does not make anyone’s lives any better.

Oh how I wish you were right, but which of these do you think would be more likely upon a judge decreeing that the Pillow guy’s rants lacked merit:
- An honorable judge has rejected these claims, therefore they must be spurious and I must rethink my deeply held beliefs
or
- That judge sure must love child rape, satan, and antifer

Has this been conclusively disproven? Really not sure why it matters in the context of dealing with the pandemic but I thought there were still legitimate questions and real research going on into this question. Last thing I remember reading was virologist thought it didn’t look or act like a man made virus but it wasn’t conclusive.

Doesn’t look like laboratory has been ruled out, although unlikely. Seems very likely it was animal to human transmission but it’s not qanon level nuttery to think otherwise. That being said there is obviously a lot of conspiracy and racism behind many peoples claim it is a CHINA VIRUS!

I just posted an article from nature quoting the team in charge of doing the research who say while unlikely it has not been ruled out.
I don’t think we are really disagreeing. I’m making a special point about the scientific method.
Both things can be true,
The vast majority of scientists think it’s not created in a lab
And
sufficient research has not yet been conducted to disprove the null hypothesis.
I also think there is a difference between, “created in a lab,” and escaped from a research lab known for going out in the wild and collecting specimens from rare bats to study in a giant population center – which some experts argued was absolutely certifiably fucking nuts.

Anyway I have no desire to get into big fight over the scientific method. The nature article confirmed what I thought was the current thinking.
