Gonna be honest. The CIA ad is really over-the-top with that stuff. It’s more cringey than progressive.
Plus, what progressive-minded person is gonna join the fucking CIA? They’re one of the most vile organizations in human history. Everything about them is anti-democratic and destructive to mankind. They’re the most woefully incompetent organizations in existence. Year in and year out, their neverending incompetence is awarded with larger budgets. Nobody with a conscience can join them.

You might be overestimating how effective the CIA thinks that ad will be. A lot of institutions are very insincere about their “wokeness”, not just the CIA. But someone at the CIA HR department probably has “DEI program improvements” on their 2021 goals, because that’s trendy in HR these days. That ad is designed so that HR person can put a check mark beside the item on their goals, not because the CIA really wants a bunch of progressives to join.
