Clovis is entirely familiar with hyperbole, he just wants to deligitimise its use by people he disagrees with.

It’s not hyperbole when he makes the exact same claim over and over again. He did so several times in the last day. It’s also never part of a well reasoned post outlining a robust position. It’s always a one or two word response reducing every discussion to “everyone right of me is a republican”.

There is a line, which is hard to define, where it changes from rhetorical hyperbole to bad faith posting. As I said in the second part of my post I would have less of an issue if it was ever part of a longer, well reasoned, explanation as to what the dangers of Xs positions are.
As you pointed out I’m no stranger to hyperbole. I overuse it in my discussions for sure. I just wish victoar would limit the unhelpful two words reductions of a discussion down to its most meaningless categories.

OR… Because each state gets equal representation in the senate regardless of population. There’s something wrong when 41 million MORE people voted for a democratic senator in this last election and the chamber is split 50/50
State rights or right to exist? That’s an excellent point. I honestly have NO idea what the original intent was on having individual statehoods. I should read up on it. I imagine it was ironically meant to allow for some disagreement among diverse populations. For ex: If you want to live where there is a lifestyle of no gambling or liquor, move to a state that doesn’t allow casinos or liquor. As long as the constitution always supersedes state law and one is free to travel or move if/when they want. What did did the founding fathers set up states anyway?
Not sure I agree about millions of little factions. The scary part is that I think the alt right is capable of putting put aside whatever differences they have coalesce to fight for their greater cause. It’s the left that could never get their shit together
As has been already mentioned any dissent on the left usually results in immediate outing, name calling, shaming, and eating their own. I believe part of this is due to the left in general being on average more intelligent and therefore more likely to be independent thinkers. The difference is that of trying to herd a group of sheep or a bunch of cats. Good luck herding cats

The key is to get rid of citizens united and corporate pack money out of campaigning. Hey, I’m a Bernie bro, but if people want a Pete or Biden I can accept that. What I can’t accept is corporations running our country by installing elected officials who will do their bidding

So there is always a division about slavery and it took 85 years to come to a head? I honestly don’t know. But I have no difficulty believing you’re right. So many systems still in place are outdated and date back to slavery such as the electoral college, etc.

A million is an exaggeration. Though i do think there would be hundreds. As far as the right being unified. Nah. The right especially the far right groups who would be the warlords have a ton on infighting and splintering of their groups right now. Give them complete power to fight over and that gets worse.
