The cruelty is the point.

nah even truly heinous pieces of shit see themselves as the good guy. I want to know what their reason possibly could be.

Looks like the reasons they give are what NBZ posted.

But the REAL reason is what I said.

So like, how bad is this formula shortage? Anyone able to point me to a good explainer? I ask since I bought my first container of formula last weekend and there was a lot on the shelf. Then this week Iā€™m seeing all sorts of posts on Facebook about people who can buy it and ship to those in need. All of them replies to those posts were just patting the op on the back and nobody actually needed it. Obviously this is anecdotal but Iā€™m curious what other people are experiencing

@Surf is the only one around here I can think of thatā€™s in the formula market.

Maybe? I guess itā€™s kind of a derail but people tell themselves massive lies to make themselves the good guys. Very few people ever truly embrace being evil in their own mind, even if they actually are evil by any reasonable measure.

I guess I might have read too much about serial killers but so many of them create theses insane belief structures where they are the good guy. I assume this would apply to politicians pretty easily.

Take Robert Pickton for example. He abducted and murdered prostitutes in and around Vancouver, admitting to killing 49 women over 20 years. He was the good guy though, because first he gave these women a ā€˜chanceā€™, before murdering them and feeding them to his pigs. But that was fine because he was cleaning up the streets.

I suppose it may be academic as it doesnā€™t necessarily matter what many republicans motivations are, but it would be helpful to predict their behavior betterā€¦ I think. I guess you could just predict ā€˜theyā€™ll say noā€™ and be right 99% of the time. I still find it interesting how they justify their actions academically thoughā€¦

Expanding WIC usage for formula gives more formula for Them and less to Real Americans.

Iā€™m seeing a lot of derp about the Feds sending formula to the border to feed immigrant children.

Iā€™ve seen that but more often Iā€™ve seen memes about Biden sending $40b to Ukraine instead of fixing the shortage. All of this without a hint of ideological consistency since that is obviously socialism

ā€œWICā€? is he all-in on the welfare industrial complex? just so we understand, itā€™s the babies who are the complex? or their parents, who just pop out more babies to leech off the government tit?

over in qanon land, there are no $40b problems that canā€™t also be solved for a lot less than $28m.

Seems like this will be a talking point. It probably gets the most feedback from the Republican base.

Ideally, news outlets would point out that WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children in any story about it.

I mean itā€™s going to be an effective line of attack. Democrats want to take formula away from hard working American families and give it to poor lazy people.

And we all know what the codewords mean.

Biggs and Gaetz have verbatim the same tweet. Copying your friendā€™s racist homework, sad.

The comments on these posts are fucking mind numbing.

GOP - Fuck you no abortions.

Also GOP - Maybe poors should think harder before having babies!

Oh so like get an abortion? No you canā€™t do that.

I tapped out after Jan 6th, and Iā€™ve been back in the loop on this stuff for like one week and already need a breather again.

BTW wouldnā€™t banning abortions make the baby formula shortage also worse?

Yes I got a surprising statement from someone this weekend about ā€œpallets of formula heading for the borderā€
