OK, Iām gonna need some cliffs. Iām late to the party on this TX AG thing.
Why exactly are they impeaching him and why are a bunch of Republicans going along with it? It seems like most of the stuff he is accused is just the standard GOP corruption that they always do. Why is this time different?

Yeah he doesnāt play nice with others. He has been under indictments forever but they just got tired of him.
Does Abbott support him?
IIRC, GOP didnāt really join with Dems in any way to take him down. They just let it happen. It seems like theyāre more of an active participant here.
Abbott has been silent on the issue of impeachment recently. I donāt think he every fully supported or was against him. More like āthe woke mobā kind of stuff.
I assume enough people told him to stay out of it.
I am still surprised this happened. He has always seemed like a massive ahole but he must be even worse than expected por republicans know things the public and democrats donāt even know.

Any correlation w Paxton picking a fight w Dade Phelan?
Phelan was running the floor of the Texas House last Friday night basically blacked out and Paxton called for his resignation.
From memory, there was no noise about impeaching Paxton until he went after Phelan.
Yeah, that is what makes it weirder. Paxton going after something legit bad is what gets him got? How?
