So my issue here is that this age group isn’t Gen-X. The youngest boomers are 58. The youngest Gen-X is 42. I’m guessing there’s a pretty big gap there.
I’ll add boomer divorces and “latch key kids” as drivers as well. A lot of us grew up being the adults between two juvenile parents and having to be more self sufficient in general as both parents were now working etc. Made us hard and bitter, like republicans!

it’s way more complicated, even though it was on TV 24/7 nobody really could follow the chain of events, also nobody really understood who the good guys and bad guys were, other than “contras” were fighting “commies” so it seems OK?
