With the blessing of local Republican officials and using the same rhetoric as many GOP politicians nationwide, this far-right coalition churned out propaganda falsely labeling Pride as a haven for āgroomersā and āpedophiles.ā Participants also issued warnings to would-be Pride attendees: Weāll be there to confront you, and weāll be armed.
This is definitely in the LetThemFight.jpg hall of fame.

I think this idea is also based on George Lucas being heavily influenced by Joseph Campbellās idea of the monomyth.
Lukeās is a classic campbellian heroās journey and with Anakin they put a dark twist on it. Campbellās model is based on a lot of andient mythology and while Jesus misses some of those elements, he still fits Campbellās model pretty well. Luke is still a gar better candidate for Space Jesus than Anakin.
At My temp housing while doing my job in San Diego I knew a guy that was big into how todayās primary religions co-opted everything from gnostic and mystics and other earlier belief systems.
