GOP Insanity Containment 2: This is the Place. This is the Time, Cowboy.

Well, I think hot takes are dead now.

Can’t beat that.

The take is actually more interesting than the tweet makes out. Still wrong. But worth a watch.

Didn’t watch, but now I’m curious. I’ll get around to it at some point.

Just watched from where it was queued up. I agree with above. I’d say the spirit of the argument (assuming it is made in good faith, which I doubt, but let’s pretend) is not as terrible as it sounded.

It’s still nonsensical. If they owe, whom do they owe? Their ancestors? The leaders of the civil rights movement? If he’s got a payment plan for that, I’d love to hear it.

If he’s going to argue that they owe the US government because the North won the civil war and ended slavery, and passed some amendments, and did the civil rights act, then that’s a no from me. US government was responsible for them being enslaved in the first place.

Yeah. The “here’s how I made a liberal mad” at the start doesnt bode well for good faith.

This looks for all the world like a Jon Oliver skit, if a little over the top. And yet it appears to be an actual, real, genuine thing produced by humans for non comedic reasons.

How is this real? How? HOW?

I really don’t understand. That’s ridiculous.

Conservatives are always so far behind in their humor. The Real Men of Genius ad campaign came out in 1998 on the radio and 2003 on US TV.

Can they really run an entire presidential campaign on transgender grievances? I guess we’ll find out.

Gotta say when I spot one of the Huckabee beer coozies at the Goodwill in 10 years, I’m pretty sure I’ll buy it.

Wait so it’s ok to drink the woke beer as long as you cover it up?

Sure, I’ve fallen for satire but this guy’s a genius.

is it whom or who?

Moved the debt ceiling stuff to that thread - feel it may ramp up so good to have separate discussion for it.

Sooo… Tucker, huh? On one hand it’s nice that he won’t have such a prominent platform to spew from. On the other hand, he’s probably going to be the next vice president to an unhealthy man that really likes his cheeseburgers.

Hm.

Tucker has officially achieved something that I don’t think anyone else in our industry can claim: being let go by all three major cable news networks, MSNBC — yes, he used to work here — CNN, after Jon Stewart humiliated him live on air, and now Fox,” Reid said.
