Golf: No Bones, just Bonesaws

He did an interview during CBS’ broadcast of the tournament this weekend. I didn’t think about it at the time, but I’ve heard people say they thought he looked high or on something.

Just a statement from an agent that says he is in surgery for multiple leg injuries.

He looked high as a kite on Sunday and has had previous addiction issues after all the back surgeries. No skid marks on the road makes it possible/likely he fell asleep.

This is such a bummer. Hopefully he is ok.

I often drove the stretch of road where Herb Brooks died after falling asleep. Nothing to it. I assume he was on cruise control and just drifted off at 70+ mph. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Losing consciousness for whatever reason is scary shit. My car has drift warnings and I think if erratic it would make some load noises.

But anyhow all of this is speculation. Number one hope he is ok to survive and live a good life his family. Golf and the accident cause are secondary.

It’s been only thing on CNN for hours.

What Jan 6 insurrection? tiger must be a true Trumper, wrecking his car to distract us from the hearings.

But will he recover in time for the Masters?

I already thought his career in the pga was basically over after watching him try to hack it out of that rough at winged foot, and the ensuing back surgery + missing more majors this year. But this kinda seems like it seals the deal. It’s gonna be a year+ of rehab for him to be back to “normal.”

Maybe he makes a comeback in the champions tour but i’ll be amazed if he ever gets T10 in a PGA tournament again, let alone a major. And I probably wouldve said that before the accident.

Sometimes even the GOAT cannot beat father time. I really hope he has a champions tour run.

I wonder how likely it is that just walking the course is difficult after recovering from those injuries?

If he were just a normal guy and not someone who came back from a back surgery that would have ended most people’s amateur careers to win the master’s - i’d say yea probably likely.

This guy isn’t a normal human though.

I could see him competing at a masters or British open on a random good week but honestly who cares about golf. The dude has lived a pretty tragic life, I hope he finds peace. Earl was a monster.

I don’t buy this take at all. I watched the HBO doc too. Monster seems pretty harsh and saying a billionaire, sports legend, with a girlfriend and kids has lived a traffic life is a bit of a stretch.

Obv hoping he’s okay and can resume a normal-for him life and get to play more golf with his kid in the future. Like lots of people my age he made golf cool. I remember watching the ‘96 Masters on my grandpa’s small tv in his den being bored to tears, even as Norman collapsed. But a year later, was captivated by Tiger on Sunday sitting in front of that same TV set as he crushed.

I’m assuming his future playing competitively is now 0 or very very limited and really disappointed I only ever got to see him in person once. It was at the 2014 Open Championship. On the Saturday afternoon round one of his tee shots came inches from knocking my wife in the head. Got to see his next shot feet away from us.

Not specifically Tiger related - but it’s things like that why I think going to a tour event is the best sporting spectator experience. For the price, good luck getting that close to the action of the best in the world.

When you see them in person it’s just shocking how good they all are.

Saw him at the PGA when he lost the YE Yang- 3rd round when Tiger was in full course management mode and got caught. Saw an early day 2002 when Rich Beam won.

Different sound when Tiger hit the ball.

Been working a lot on my driver and particularly my swing plane.

This might not look beautiful or perfect but it was the best swing of the session (funnily it was a practice swing). I was hitting very straight shots, a few hooks, which are super rare for me.

I have a severe casting problem and it seems like I’m getting close to something that will get rid of that weak driver slice.

Can’t offer anything useful but props to you for actually recording your swing. To be honest, I’d be terrified to see what my swing actually looks like. In my head it is definitely Justin Thomas but I have a feeling it’s an ugly old man half swing.
