Golf: No Bones, just Bonesaws

Well with what you get from SkyTrak you can deduce it, at least relatively speaking.

I wrote about it earlier in this thread, but using a commercial Foresight monitor with immediate feedback of clubhead path, clubface angle, and sidespin, I improved my ball striking more in a month than I did in years prior groping blindly on the range.

I’ve since tried other monitors that don’t provide that entire data set, and they’ve never been quite as effective for me.

I’m actually curious whether I’d be able to generate similar data quickly off what’s available from SkyTrak. Clubface angle relative to target line at impact should be easy using the path of the ball, and side spin should allow me to calculate the clubhead path as I’m sure there’s a formula once you have clubface angle and spin.

But I don’t think there’s any software that spits them out immediately for this. That said, I should know just off the data available and my own analysis of it within about five seconds whether I came inside out or over the top, and whether my club face was open/closed/square.

At the end of the day, it’s a setup that can be done for a few thousand vs like $50K for the full professional setup. The bang for the buck is off the charts.

Thankfully the masters is only once a year because I’m awful at betting on golf.

On a different note I’ve really liked watching this without fans. Truly does give a different look for how beautiful the property is.

Lol Tiger. How the fuck do you hit it into the drink 3x?

Tee shot landed short of the green and spun back into the creek, dropped and landed it on the green and it spun back into the creek again, dropped it and put it in the back bunker. Had a lie with one foot way above the other and the ball way below his feet and blasted it across the green back into the creek.

This broadcast is an embarrassment. Not one but two segments sucking of Faldo while the leaders are on the back nine. Fuck you, CBS

Masters is always terrible. Half the broadcast every year is commercials and video packages.

Yeah that was bad. It’s setting up to be anticlimactic unless DJ implodes. The course will likely give the illusion of it being closer than it is when DJ is on 12, as someone chasing will likely go -2 or -3 on 13 to 15, but DJ will get his on the par 5’s.

We’re drawing to a DJ implosion or someone firing like a 30 on the back to make it interesting at the end.

Everyone is flipping to the NFL anyway, I would imagine. I’ll be DVRing The Masters and watching the Eagles and I live for The Masters every year.

Seriously? There are very few commercials every year. The fewest of any major sports telecast.

ANGC getting spicy messing with the pin placement on 16, clearly sending a message on how they view this Masters.

Hungjae just DGAF, love it.

I was thinking the same thing, course looks even better without 50k fans covering every inch of grass

You should see it in person :smirk:

This is on my bucket list. How did you see it?

I hope to someday! Pretty sure Riverman has played a round there so we can all be jealous of him
