Golf: No Bones, just Bonesaws

this was a few months ago, that’s the starter list (though some won’t with the heat)

but like if you’re a journeyman in your 40’s or phil at 51 who dgaf gonna be hard not to take it with the fields/prize pools. Staying in the PGA tour is hard if you’re on the bubble it’s a tough decision to go for that or not.

before some say hurr durr don’t take the saudi money, I’m sure there’s some pga sponsor money that can’t say they’re better.

PGA threatening anyone that plays will a lifetime ban. Are they really allowed to do that? Seems there would be some antitrust and other legal issues.

Seems dumb as they don’t ban these guys for going choosing Euro tour memberships and can’t ban them from the majors.

Anyway I can’t imagine those 15 guys moving the needle in any way for this Saudi league. It there’s no Tiger, Rory, Spieth, Rahm, Dechamblow and they don’t get any next big thing guys like Cam Smith or Scheffler then golf fans are just going to forget those 15 guys and keep watching PGA tour.

dechamblow and cam smith played in the feb saudi event on the asian tour but I agree I doubt either join the league with the heat on

I am about to play my first round since January. Next week. I played out at Paiute last and the grass was great then. In fact every time I have gone has been great conditions. I am either playing there again or going low end. The club at sunrise is cheap .

You can catch daily deals at Revere for like $60. Lexington is in better shape.

Patrick Reeds wife is insane

Hating on tiger during his comeback arc should be good for their brand. Lol

Maybe if her husband wasn’t so damn unlikeable, course pros would be willing to give him tips too.

not only unlikeable but a cheat, liar and a thief. I wonder if she kept that same energy when her husband got caught cheating and didnt get suspended or kicked off the tour.

GolfFACTS is Reed’s wife?

Likely both of them.

Also Bones fired Phil for not paying him. Yikes.

Mickelson’s gambling losses has never before been made public, but, as noted in the book, during the Billy Walters insider trading investigation, government auditors conducted a forensic examination of Phil’s finances. According to a source with direct access to the documents, Mickelson had gambling losses totaling more than $40 million in the four-year period (2010–14) that was scrutinized.

Wow that has to hurt. He isn’t Tiger rich. $10M/year had to be a real chunk of his income.

Certainly explains why he’s chasing that Saudi money.

Went and hit a bunch of clubs yesterday to replace my ancient (R7 draw) irons.

Went in really hoping I was going to like the Mizuno JPX912 Hot Metals but it ended up like it usually does. The best clubs for me were ones that weren’t even on my radar.

Ended up buying Cleveland Launcher XLs with Recoil stiff graphite shafts. Go figure.

I saw something floating around that they had like 60 PGA Tour guys try to commit to their event, with a 48 player cap? Not a good sign, although they could mostly be fringe guys I guess.

a bunch were going to but backed out after the heat got turned on

no idea outside of a dozen or so at this point, fringe guys or phil or sergio or whoever else

Kinda hard to pass if you’re a fringe guy, PGA tour is hard to stay on and this saudi thing is a shit ton of money
