I didn’t know I’d be so mad about Sanford and Son losing
Twilight Zone over Peter Gunn by a nose
Law and Order, Munsters, Jeffersons easily
Really pissed that Matlock and Addams family made it this far and one will move on. I refuse to vote and demand a reseed.
Lol at you Philistines having GoT over one of the best themes ever (next to the best which you already pissed all over - Hawaii-5-0).
Mission Impossible / Happy Days is brutal. Still haven’t decided. I may have to flip a coin.
Simpsons easily but don’t care much.
The musical artistry of Danny Elfman can’t be denied, even if I didn’t vote for him
Tried forever to figure out where I knew Linda Purl of the Matlock credits from. It’s that she later played Pam’s mom Helene who dated Michael for a bit on The Office.
“Home run, Michael.”
“That was a bunt.”
With all due respect to the great M:I theme, let’s get that shit turned around in the voting. Depriving the tournament of Happy Days is stupid.
@lfs, thanks for keeping this rolling. Also, fuck you for post so many inevitable and yet impossible matchups
This is some bullshit
Happy to see Cowboy Bebop still in it!
Take your tentacle porn elsewhere.
The version showing here for Twilight Zone is not the theme, it’s an amalgamation of all Twilight Zone themes. The more iconic versions of the theme are from season 3 and what was used in seasons 4 and 5. Maybe I can change your mind.

Round 4 Justifications
The Twilight Zone vs. Peter Gunn-Peter Gunn had an exceptional run but there is no way, I repeat, no way, it should even stand in the same ring as The Twilight Zone’s theme.
The X-Files vs. Law & Order-King of TV themes Mike Post only has one entry left standing in this competition and if it were up to me, he would be gone. So far, it seems most people are in agreement that it’s time to take Mike Post and his 40 themes in this competition to the family graveyard.
The Munsters vs. Cowboy Bebop-I dig the theme for The Munsters. I dig the theme for Cowboy Bepop. I have no idea what Cowboy Bebop is but I know The Munsters really well. Because of that, or in spite of that, I’m picking The Munsters.
The Jeffersons vs. Sesame Street-Easy pick for me, sticking with the GOAT, The Jeffersons that should win this competition.
Matlock vs. The Addams Family-Matlock had a spectacular run but I don’t see how it’s any competition for The Addams Family. The Addams Family wins this with many snaps up.
Game of Thrones vs. Rawhide-F*** you Game of Thrones, need I say more for Rawhide to get my vote?
Mission: Impossible vs. Happy Days-Finally I get to vote again for Mission: Impossible. Richie Cunningham is about to get catfished in an op where he thought the Happy Days theme was winning vs. Mission: Impossible. Turns out him and his whitey titeys are being sent to the laundromat in the sky and he is gonna get a big surprise on that train track.
The Simpsons vs. The Muppet Show-Bye Danny
for me half these matchups were close but this was the most brutal. Eh I also hated voting for GoT over Rawhide. I’m opening thread super late but another epic job by wookie & co.
I definitely think Twilight Zone does maybe best job in history of being memorable and setting a tone, and for me part of the reason it’s hard to pick is that they’re weirdly alike (e.g. the way they depend on the 4th and the diminished 4th). But in the end I’m not voting against Peter Gunn here because it’s just unbelievably cool. Twilight Zone is awesome and more impressive musically but wouldn’t you have rather composed Peter Gunn? Like when your casket comes out at your funeral they play Peter Gunn? I vote Peter Gunn!
I’ll go back and see how some personal favorites got bounced, like what happened to Succession, 99% of the music on the entire show were just variations on the one theme, and 98% of them were fire and the theme never came close to getting old, crazy achievement
Don’t get the Game of Thrones hate. I enjoyed the show, but wasn’t any sort of super fan or anything and think it’s a fantastic theme song, especially when combined with the visuals of the intro.
