GOAT Sandwich Tourney! (no actual goats were harmed)

I always smoke a pastrami and make Reubens for my Hanukkah party every year. I’ve posted lots of pictures of them over the years in the food thread.

So for reubens we’ve got:

pastrami or corned beef

rye or pumpernickel

thousand island or russian

I assume swiss cheese and sauerkraut don’t have any other variations?

Not if you want to call it a Reuben and not “our take on a Reuben”

Literally any combination of the listed options will make a fantastic sandwich.

I was legitimately pondering the make up of a meatball this very day.

Italian sausage and mushroom is a close second for me.

So what did you go with?

Turkey on rye. My dad got pastrami and it looked good as hell but I’m glad I passed on the meat bomb.

Wtf

I stand by it. My stomach can be tricky. Discretion is the better part of valor.

It’s basically meatloaf. Traditionally, when it was peasant food, it had a lot of filler in it, but now tends to be gut bombs of pure hamburger if made poorly.

You went out of your way for that abomination? Do you have a fever?

Really, really tough one. Absolutely love a brisket as a one off! But I decided if I could only eat one for the rest of my life; has to be BLT.

No, was (am) driving my dad all around the east coast to see family, it was on the way and we’d apparently gone there when I was a kid.
