Local place makes a sweet corn pie around Thanksgiving every year. It tastes so good, kind like a creamed corn or corn custard type filling.

Its pretty common. Its also pretty common to put, say, apple compote on a cheese plate. It doesnt seem insane to me that one might put cheese on a giant pastry full of apple compote. I prefer ice cream, but i can understand the cheese weirdos.
