Not everybody has had every type of pie (or sandwich), but looking at something can give you an idea of what it will taste like.
I’ve never had a Tarte Tatin, but I’ve had tarts and cooked apples.
The honey pie that I had didn’t really look like that pic.
Imagine the texture/consistency of a chess pie, with a honey flavor. It was good, but not top tier.
Apparently grape pie is a yuge thing in upstate NY. Haven’t had that either.

The Original PieCaken is a three-layer dessert. There is pecan pie on the bottom, pumpkin pie in the middle, and spice cake on the top. Each layer is frosted with cinnamon buttercream frosting. The cake is slathered with the same cinnamon buttercream frosting on top plus it is topped with apple pie filling.

Tippins strawberry pie is insane. Whole strawberries in glaze, whipped cream.

Strawberries are good in anything. Mom’s version of strawberry shortcake was a baking powder biscuit cut in half topped with garden fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Better than 90% of any restaurant deserts.
It was good enough to win the sandwich contest. Why not the pie contest too?

There’s a diner near Redwood National Park, which is actually three former state parks cobbled together. The diner is in-between two of the state parks on the main road. When blackberries are in season, the local meth-heads come in with bushels of them and the diner gives them free food or a bit of cash in exchange. That meth-head blackberry pie is probably the best piece of pie I’ve ever had.
Fuck, did we do pineapple pie? I had that at a place in Tamarindo, Costa Rica that was famous for it might be the second best piece of pie I’ve ever had.
