Their writing doesn’t seem much different. Lots of false equivalences, whataboutism, I told ya so etc bullshit.
Plus that fucking thing was just an excerpt lol. The guy isn’t a talented enough writer to write pieces as long as his.

lol Taibbi is a much better writer than Greenwald. Greenwald usually sucks as a writer and is a much more entertaining speaker than he is a writer.
I also like or liked Taibbi’s writing. I just can’t deal with the takes he’s putting out now.
Looking forward to Greenwald/Taibbi commentary on that Kremlin leak, which appears to fully justify the Russiagate media circus that they’ve been calling delusional and overblown for like 5 years now.
Apparently Glenn is stanning for Jimmy “Dimmy” Dore after it came out that he sexually harassed Anna Kasparian of TYT (Jimmy bragged about it on his show, because he’s too stupid to realize how bad it made him look). In the course of his defense, Glenn compared it to “what they did to Brett Kavanaugh with no evidence.” I’ve been dunking on Glenn for years for being a narcissist, contrarian dickhead, and a terrible writer, but it turns out he’s also a scumbag on a human level. I’m done with this dude, it’s not even funny any more.
Being a scumbag is more profitable than fighting against the powers that be. Who knew?
Leaked by Kremlin on purpose to fuck with us and sow discord, therefore cannot assume any of it is true. Too easy to be a contrarian.
To be fair, the leak seems a bit dubious. I did think it seemed too pat, like it’s exactly what an informed MSNBC viewer would sketch out as a scene, but I assumed the Guardian had done their homework. Maybe not, though:
Draw your own conclusions - do your own research! - but I’m a bit skeptical.
Greenwald wrote an entire piece about how Nancy Pelosi made her fortune off the back of trading companies about whom she potentially has inside information.

Matt Yglesias then pointed out that this “wildly successful” trading of her husband is substantially less wildly successful than investing in an S&P index fund and re-investing dividends, which would have delivered her $192 million before tax.
Obviously I don’t think members of Congress should be able to trade stocks, but Pelosi is not a very good example. You know who is? Mitch McConnell. $3 million in 2005, $27 million in 2015. A Senator’s salary is less than $200,000.

Billy Beer!
My stepdad had a 6-pack of Billy Beer that sat on top of his refrigerator for 20 years. I think he thought it was going to be a collector’s item. Can’t imagine what it would taste like if you opened it.
I don’t even really care if he were saying it’s not such a big deal or it shouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Right wingers going to right wing and all that, but like why can’t a random journalist go to a random country just strains credulity.
And he follows it up with the sneering “Both sides, mannnn, look at what happened to Assange”. Yes, the US is exactly like Hungary.
Read Glenn’s first 5 words and thought he had a moment of self-awareness.
Glenn Greenwald is the Armond White of political pundits
Edit: Aside from the fact that the blindingly obvious lesson from Australia’s recent outbreaks is that going very hard, very early is by far the best strategy, how can you be this immersed in politics and think New Zealand has a “President”? It’s a fucking Commonwealth country.
Way to shoehorn BLM in there. He knows his audience.
During the George Floyd protests in NZ in June 2020 their cases were literally 0.
Australia didn’t do quite as well but they situation is 30 times worse now.
“So why are these completely different situations treated differently?”, asks very smart newsletter writer Glenn Greenwald.
