has anyone here had any experience with hair restoration surgery? I’ve had receding since i was a teenager, never bothered me really because I could wear it ok, in recent years has been thinning, which can be combatted, but now lately I’m getting aggressive hair loss on the back of my crown. this wouldnt be a problem except the combo of the cane really makes me look like an old man. I’m not shaving my head because it makes me look like a nazi. and im currently too chubby to pull that look off anyway.

feel free to pm me if not wanting to post publicly. I’ve seen good results from people I follow, really curious, but not sure where to start or what to look for

I’ve seen it on people and it works. There’s just that awkward transition period when you just have a few whiskers of hair during the early stages but then after 6-12 months or so you have hair.

It’s popular for people here in Czechia to get their surgery in Turkey.

The people I’ve followed also go to turkey, because it can be $10k-$15k in the US, and I guess significantly cheaper in turkey, even if you factor in the cost of travel - I’ve never been overseas though, been kind of considering that option.

It’s weird though that Negreanu’s looks like shit from certain angles because you’d assume he could get a top notch doctor, but I do think it’s worked wonders for some.

To be fair, I’m not analyzing the scalps of these guys who got the surgery. They tell me they got it and from across a table it looks good.

Though there is a significant amount of aftercare needed to make sure those hair transplants stay healthy and in place. Shampoos, conditioners, behavioral modifications etc

when you get to the point I am and have been battling for twenty years you’re used to already doing this. I’ve got all the products. i cant fight biology anymore I need science. Male pattern baldness is a scourge on humanity. People always feel at liberty to comment about it and I have a mercurial temperament so its a problem, and I would kill for what I had like, even 7 to 8 years ago

Once you give in and buzz, all is peace.

I seriously look like a nazi when I do this. It is simply too thin. my dad pulled off the short/bald look really well but he was really dark and better looking so it looked cool, I have tried. I hate it a lot. If I had a good hat game I’d be more comfortable with it, but, I just wear ballcaps which are too informal to even eat at restaurants sometimes

sigh I was going to just ask my derpatologist about rogaine or whatever, does that shit not work? I just have some receding around my temples, nothing major.

for light thinning and receding prescribed stuff works well, im fighting costanza baldness

A buzz isn’t nazi for decades now. Nazi is the flop top w short sides thing. Too many actual cool people w the buzz for nazis to do their uncool thing w it.

In 3 decades I’ve literally never seen someone who didn’t look better w a buzz than w some ā€œbetter try and hide it; tell everyone to squint from across a table insteadā€ thing.

I’ve got an XXL forehead, squinty nose and ears that stick out differently. Wish I’d buzzed years before I did!

Shaved head worked out well for me (I think), but I do look like a cop.

i am really fat and white. classic nazi look. i have to grow a beard to do this and i dont like having one anymore

if someone who looks like me goes shaved head or buzz cut they just look like a doughnut. I just want my hair again and its semi affordable enough. really though its just the cane. I legit look like an old man. If I had a full head of hair I feel I’d change my game a lot

I do agree that shaved head works better when less heavy.

I’d try, but I’m pretty skinny and would prob just look like a cancer patient so I might buck that trend.

Yah, I feel this. I’m 41 and have a young looking face, so could probably pass for early 30s if my hair wasn’t fucking it up.

Same with a buzz cut (0 guard, weekly). This effect is bigly multiplied by two other factor for me as well.

  1. Our daily driver is a white 2015 Dodge Charger that used to be a highway patrol car. We won it in an auction from the state back in 2020. One time I parked on the street to pick up food at a restaurant and some random dude walking by said ā€œthank you for your service to me.ā€ It took me off guard and looked at him weird and said ā€œwhat? what do you mean?ā€ Then he said he thought I was a cop and I had to dispel that quickly. We do think this has some positive effect for with other folks moving out of the left lane when driving on the highways however. :person_shrugging:
  2. Any time I have mustache.

haha, different. On rural roads I feel bad for the cop-look white cars. Everyone slows down to indicated speed limit whem they’re behind. Must piss them off; wonder if they always know why everyone’s at the speed limit? Def better on the highway.
