From NBA Live '95 to 2K20: An Unstuck 5 Year NBA Dynasty Draft

Good pick. I thought it was a hybrid but you have all 5 in the book.

Bird ran him out of town by trying to force him be a 4 and was trying to basically intimidate him. That’s not the way it works anymore Larry.

would have been a good fit for my team too. Didn’t give him enough thought.

Not that KD is a bad defender, but he needed a junkyard dog type player to cover up some of his deficiencies on that end.

Paul George is maybe the most talented junkyard dog ever. He also excelled on three different teams between 2016-20: scalable traits scale.

Now I have to pick modern players. This will be tough.

and you have two wait 2 rounds till your next pick. I think you can still draft Chandler Parsons as a current player tho.

That’s a poor way to phrase it.

They’re not skilled enough to be an elite #1, but they’re wired in a way where they can be an elite #2. It’s more a credit to them than a knock, they’re mature and/or chill enough to be okay with a slightly lesser role.

I think PG lacks PG skills to completely replicate what Pippen can do. But he makes up for it with his shooting traits.

I think Pippen would lack those skills today. He was playing in a slower time. (I don’t think Pippen’s handle is as good as George’s is the main thing.)

One last bit on my previous point, look how Klay was with being a #3. He’s a confident enough guy to be like whatever, we’ll win and I’ll get open looks. That and he’s the definition of chill. Also speaks to some of the intangible things about premier organizations, guys have a confidence that the franchise won’t be petty and shallow about a dip in production.

Steph and Wade are the rare guys to have the skills to be a 1 but the wiring to be a 2 if the situation merits it.

The Duncan and LeBron teams are nuts. LeBron + Nash = :sweat_drops::sweat_drops::sweat_drops:

I like the George pick and was considering him, but as a current player.

Yeah I think that was an interesting strategic decision because it leaves him with only current player slots when he could have had current George. However it’s possible his best days are behind him due to injuries, although he’s obviously still great. Anachronistic’s team looks great but I would’ve considered Nash over Billups there.

Pierce would have been great for my team rip

@Nicholasp27 is up

Paul George would have been an infinitely better pick than Iverson for the Kawhi/Harden team. Frankly, would have been better than Chauncey last round for that exact same team but it’s still a really good pick now.

I think my team is the worst so far but I see what direction it’s going so I’m going to try and to build around that.

Same, there’s only a few guys where you can really go current or historic.

I think George isn’t likely to have a season that’s much better, if at all, but him in his prime is an amazing #4. @anachronistic really has 3 #2ish options which are all plus plus defenders that can switch across multiple positions (w/ PG being able to guard 1-4).

His team may be relatively thin after them re: eliteness, but even in this league I don’t know that it matters bc his team is really great w amazing fit.

His entire team is elite 2 way guys. I think it’s perfect tbh.

You don’t need anyone individually creating for KD. PG would serve the exact same role he did this year for LAC, and they don’t have a traditional point guard on the bench.

On the flip side, if he’s not going to dominate the ball, to get value out of Nash you need someone who will turn him into Steve Kerr. Bron will do that, KD wouldn’t imo (he’s not a drive and kick guy really).

Had the same thought

How many historic and how many current players are we drafting?

Ah, I see the edit; only 4 historic and 5 current

You have prime Steph, ~prime Wade and the biggest raw talent in the league right now. It is not the worst and I think you are severely under appreciating how good Steph was (is).

2way PGs that can shoot are shallow. But PGs that are PG are pretty rare too.
