From NBA Live '95 to 2K20: An Unstuck 5 Year NBA Dynasty Draft

It was Brow or McGrady for me.

Thought there was way less of a chance of Brow dropping back to me and there’s other guards I can take. TMac was the 2nd GOAT SG at his peak *(outdated, now it’s Harden).

Now the draft begins.

@Lawnmower_Man I think

Yep, reminder that SS is in OP.

I @'d him but deleted bc I saw he liked NBZ’s pick.

Yeah I am in the tank closing all of the open tabs of my best availables getting wiped out. Was definitely on TMac next.

I think there’s an undrafted who should go in the top 20 pretty easily but we’re all dancing around him for now. Our buyer at work is a huge fan of this player and also told me 12 players who were better than LeBron.

I mentioned this in every pick I made so far.

I might be in the minority, but I think top twenty is still a little too high for Hubie.

Anytime you can select Steph Curry with size, you gotta do it. Didn’t think he’d last until round 2.

How many of the 12 have been drafted so far?

A fair number but I don’t remember all of them

I’ll take 94-98 Karl Malone. He missed 2 games in that stretch while posting crazy numbers.

Am I up/is the action on me?

yes

Malone is a great pick. He’s someone who can score in every way. He’d be shooting corner 3s today.

Shit. This is a tough spot.

When it doubt, go Big.

  1. Chauncey Billups, PG, 2004-2008

Mr. Big. Shot. Took down Lakers’ dream team in legendary 5-game 2004 Finals sweep, winning Finals MVP and crushing the soul of RIP Undrafted. Just that close from going back to back losing to Spurs’ dynasty in 7 in 2005.

Regular Season Stats
MPG: 35.2 (missed 23 games over 5 years)

Playoff Stats

WS/48: 201

Billups was the consummate leader during his reign in Detroit: game on a string, knock down shooter, lock down defender, never out of place and elite BBIQ. Billups is the metronome the mercurial Durant and hyper-aggro KG would thrive playing with. He can play off the ball, he can play on the ball, he can pass, shoot, drive, finish, and guard at an elite level. He made two all-defensive teams during this period and had a 59TS% on 23% USG and 33% AST (basically the focal point on offense). Considering the attention KD and KG will command his 40% volume 3pt shooting will be even more valuable.

TEAM
PG: Chauncey Billups, 2004-2008
SF: Kevin Durant, 2010-2014
PF: Kevin Garnett, 2002-2006

Wow i was totally hoping Billups gonna be my 6th man

Had two other players I was deciding between, and I expect one of them will go between now and my next pick. Hoping the other one won’t.

Billups was #1 on my board in any event.

@Nicholasp27 is up
