I hate Yang and don’t really see what’s wrong with that other than maybe over sharing? He misses the dog that he couldn’t keep because i t made his kid sick? Seems legit? Not a dog person.

Voluntarily advertising that you gave away the family dog is bonkers, even if the reasoning is arguably fine. An uncharitable, but probably still true-ish, framing is that he gave away his family dog because his kid was sneezing.

I think poorly of anyone who would make their kid suffer by refusing to get rid of the dog, unless the kid wants to make that sacrifice.

I’m with you on this one. Although I suspect there are plenty of dog people that would feel differently.

Does it matter what exactly happened with the dog? Is it OK if they found it a good home? For example, if they gave it to a dog-loving relative, would that be at least not bonkers?
Of course there are better and worse versions of the story. I think a big part of my WTF reaction is that:
- he voluntarily publicized it
- he doesn’t seem very sad about it
I mean, that tweet is like a Facebook post by someone saying how much she misses having margaritas with her sorority sisters, not someone who made the difficult choice to separate a beloved pet from the family.
The guy communicates like a complete alien.
It’s like Yang only paid attention to the Mets in the mid-80s when they peaked at a World Series win and 1999-2000, when they lost in the WS and NLCS and maybe couldn’t tell you who the top players were in the early 90s when the team sucked.

That said, I’d consider him a Blue Jay before a Met just as you would with Roberto Alomar. It’s the opposite with a player like Jeff Kent or Jose Reyes.
