Fast food thread

usually its gonna be on a friday night 7-8pm is most common for me so that probably too. i’m not dying to try it but i am very curious at this point.

i doubt it can beat crack shack, which is near me, but it has like a 3x higher price point.

I also have a go to fried chicken sandwich place that is way better, but more expensive. My Popeyes ones were all when I was out of town except for one when I happened to be driving by one and I was hungry so I decided it was fate.

are those sandwiches as good as the hype?

they are definitely better than chick-fil-a

On an enjoyment per dollar basis, they’re probably the best. Definitely the best FF chicken sandwich I have had (and that is my most common FF sando order).

But I have had non-chain gourmet food truck type places that were a little better but quite a bit more expensive.

So, I’d say it’s my favorite fast food item. But I eat fast food less than 10x/year (unless you count Chipotle).

I’d say at worst it’s not too far from the hype.

god damnit

+1 better than Jesus chicken, though quality control is worse and you can end up with a shitty one

Last time I was in US I tried the Jesus chicken. It was legitimately terrible. Like among the worst fast food chicken sandwich I’ve ever had.

Christians are fucked.

Unfortunately, I think that has been their goal this entire time.

I finally got one last night! got the meal with a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. coleslaw was a bit mushy for me but easily the best ff chicken sandwich I’ve had. cant comment specifically as to chik fil A as I’ve not eaten there since 2008.

the breading was crisp without being too crunchy, meat was moist, seasoned perfectly with sauce, bun was good. the pickle i wouldve preferred being chopped up rather than a big ole chunk, but that’s nitpicky.

Apparently the Mexican Pizza is back and my wife was bringing me Taco Bell at work so I asked her to pick one up for me. However the way she read my order she thought it was included with the box I got so no Mexican pizza for me

Shitty trip report, thanks.

I just had whataburger. I got a burger and 3 chicken strips. The chicken strips were legit the worst Ive ever had in my life. Tenders my ass. Place is fuckin trash.

Whataburger definitely the most overrated place, people say in-n-out, but it’s not even close, in-n-out is overrated but nowhere near the levels of whataburger. just typical texas provincialism, it’s from texas, it’s obviously THE BEST JERRY, THE BEST. fuck off.

look, Canes and CFA are NOT “fried chicken” joints

Severe lack of popeyes on that map wtf

Bojangles is super big in NC so not sure how they came up with the map

95% of these types of maps are created by idiots with access to Google Trends who provide 0 methodology and state something as incontrovertible fact that goes way beyond the data they have.

I have lived in Colorado for a year and have never heard of or seen a Cane’s.

And re: Popeye’s chicken sandwich, the only time I’ve had it was at an airport and it wasn’t good at all. I’m definitely on the side of paying double the price and getting a good local fried chicken sandwich.
