I’m at the tail end of Gen-X and we’re all basically apathetic and irresponsible and happy to not be in the crosshairs of the Boomers.
I’m at the leading edge at age 50. My previous boss was 5 years older than me and we couldn’t be more different.
Me: make fun of everything, show up at 11am, done every drug imaginable in my 20s, have full beard, not named Doug, don’t really like to shower with other men.
Him: doesn’t get irony, in the office by 6, ex-military, has a goatee, literally named Doug, hated Hillary but claims to be politically middle of the road, probably walks around the locker room naked jabbering to people for half an hour (assuming).
Sometimes the stereotypes fit.
I mean I don’t want to fight, but:
Can confirm. I’m a millennial and I’d probably get instabanned if I really cleared the air about how I feel about Boomers. Obviously this is partially wrapped up in the fact that both of my (really lousy) parents are/were Boomers. To say I’m bitter about it is a massive understatement.
speaking of millennial…a thread about the Jacob Wohl arraignment! (wait, he might actually be GenZ…)

I’m pretty sure there’s someone standing behind him.
We’ll just have to mull it over, and decide for ourselves.
Counterpoint: Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis, who travels 500 miles to get his hair cut like this:
“So Mr. Davis, what number do you want me to use for my clippers?”
“Set it to Pitching Wedge”
Is it my imagination or has there been a widespread shift in attitudes over the past couple years to the general sentiment that everything sucks? Not just politically, and not just among the woke or whatever, but a sort of all-encompassing gestalt of pessimism that coats everything for everybody.
Well, there’s this malaise.
It’s the weather changing. People are suddenly realizing that we’ve already experienced the last remotely normal weather of our entire lives.
Probably, but Trump getting elected will do that to people.
Any sociopaths looking to make a quick buck?
It’s easy to fall into this trap but when you look at the global stats most things are actually getting better in general. People globally are being lifted out of poverty. Life spans are increasing. Diseases are being cured. Social liberties are generally increasing. Crime is decreasing. War is decreasing.
It’s generally a pretty great time to be alive.
