What about this carmax / blue book insta offer stuff? Let’s say I’m willing to let go of it for the worst case lowest trade in value of 2k, isn’t that still a lot better than donating?
What I’ve done with cars is donate them with the intention of claiming it and then forgetting to claim it, so I can’t confirm the whole process works, but if you claim $5700 then you get like 30% of that (could be more - depends on state taxes too) and that’s close to $2k.
I think most of those things are pretty scammy and the charity you think you’re helping gets like $150, but I’m sure some are better than others.
Wow here we max out at $500 in tax incentives for donating a car.
Do you max out for all charitable donations or just cars? Always done that or just after seeing how scammy the whole car donation industry is?
(fwiw the cars I’ve donated haven’t been worth that much. I drive them until they are broken beyond hope. $500 is probably the biggest credit I would have gotten. And the last 3 vehicles I’ve sorta given/sold/traded to friends. Now that I’m an anarchist, that’s the way I have to do it.)
We get tax credit for all kinds of other charitable donations. It’s just cars that max at $500.
Knives Out is the most fun I’ve had in a movie in a long time.
Just a note. For Apple News+, which includes full access to several magazines and newspapers, you can get a three month trial now.
This is for first time subscribers only and it ends this weekend. I had not used my thirty day trial yet so I just signed up for three months free.

So let’s say a bunch of submarines launch fleets of these autonomous drones with targets pre-programmed to take out US infrastructure. Pretty much indefensible right?
Thought Knives Out was good, not great.
I tried to get Bro to post this herself, but she says I should do it. This is an article she wrote. It’s slightly blowing up a bit in the socialist/communist/marxist world…maybe. Someone put it up on YouTube (computer voice) and it’s been published in a few places. It’s slightly controversial because some people think it’s some kind of endorsement of the Iranian regime; it isn’t. She’s interested in Marxist stuff and she took a class in like recent Middle Eastern history or something and was interested in this person. Most of the response has been positive though. Haymarket books communicated some kind of interest/support to the publisher. Apolinar is not her/our last name.

I reckon Americans will be all good…
The purpose of life is to live it.
that’s right. activities available.
That’s circular as far as I can tell.
“How should I live my life?”
“You should live it.”
“Ok…”
Asking what the purpose of life is presupposes that there are better and worse ways to live a life, which seems reasonable.
Well, for some people coming to the conclusion there is no meaning of life is a major upgrade over the unhealthy / dysfunctional stuff they were taught as kids by bad parents, and very liberating.
Baskin Robbins 31 flavors.
Human beings have 7 billion flavors of consciousness.
maybe I’m a bit on-the-spectrum and can’t always empathize and pretend to know your struggle.
I’m the moodiest mofo I know lol, but the purpose involves the spectrum of experience

Let’s get weird!
Did you wanna talk about it and do the philosophical circuitous wormhole tonight?
Haha sure.
How about this: true or false? A life spent counting blades of grass is just as meaningful as any other. The important thing is enjoying what you do.
companionship and the seasons and peripheral spectacle/ various different locales could make it so, so yes true
