Fall LC thread

There’s a lot of them about.

A guy at work I used to drink with as part of a group every week was an authoritarian but muted and was bearable until Brexit happened and suddenly he clearly felt empowered to spew hateful bile. I have nothing to do with the ■■■■ any more.

Personally I don’t think anything can be grosser than mashed sweet potatoes with multi-colored marshmallows on top. But I don’t think it’s that unusual.

You’re right about why they wouldn’t want you to return the batteries, but this is common for all sorts of items that don’t have safety concerns. Software without passkeys was a big one a couple of decades ago, but digital viability made that kind of theft irrelevant. I lost touch with anyone involved in the industry for a while now, but last check in, big ticket items of course were required, but most other stuff has a DESTROY at site of return for a bunch of retailers. Even stuff as big as bicycles.

Yours is gross but for me, it doesn’t touch the example in the tweet. The cherry on top is just enough to make me puke wow.

Have you told him libertarians want open borders?

There are plenty of Libertarians who are on board with closed borders.

Maybe I don’t understand what a libertarian is then. Back when I was on Facebook a lot I loved to point out all their contradictions.

Some are for free movement of people. Some arent until we end helping the poor. And id guess some just arent for it.

Still does not hurt to point it out.

Libertarians don’t give a shit about libertarian ideology. They never have.

I actually lol’d… these people are not thinking through how all of this is going to play out.

Yup… :joy:

I just saw A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. It’s a a real antidote to our times and a great film.

Mr. Rogers was a life long Republican.

Let that sink in for a moment.

It’s tough when you’re talking about older people like that. Like the Republican Party of the 40s and 50s is completely different than the party of today. I can’t get over joe Biden joining the senate with a party that still had segregationists.
