One reason for EBay to buy an ad on its own name is to keep competitors away.
Yeah given the way google search ads used to work, competitors could take out ads on copyrighted words but could not use the words in the ads themselves. This alone made those ads very expensive for those entities. The owner of the copyright could use the term and get much higher CTR and then pay significantly less per click.

Germany has many conservative values eg I hear it still largely closes on Sundays.
Contrast that with the Russian Embassy here in London, whose female employees dress in as little material as they can without getting arrested for a breach of public decency law.
Then again, many of the Germans on holiday in the Canaries recently were quite comfortable with getting changed naked on the beach in full view of everyone, so

My stereotyped thinking is Germans like their rules. If the rule is you can be naked, fine, be naked. If there’s a dress code maybe, well, better follow that too.
