Wow. That is HORRENDOUS marketing.
I had heard of PlayStation Vue, but had no idea what it was. Figured it was some video game thing.

I’m guessing golf.

Sure George, that seat is “for the taking” but probably for somebody without a felony conviction.
Freedom* Consciousness sells the best
I think the war metaphor gets across the urgency much better. I’d look into propaganda techniques from WW2 as inspiration for how to portray the rich.
Hey, it’s the one guy who actually got lupus!
You may as well be talking about the entertainment industry there.
So it looks like one of the prequel series in development has won the Game of Thrones. This is different than the one earlier not picked up starring Naomi Watts.
It is insane and should not be allowed but it is how it works. Banks will give loans on cash flow , assets or more whatever else and they will bend over for big equity firms.
Yeah prequel about House Taergaryn and ordered direct to series.

It’s going to be about the Dance of the Dragons, which was an internecine Targaryen civil war between two thoroughly unlikeable sides. I feel like it’s going to suck, it’ll just be battle after battle, but maybe they can add some character drama in.
Looks like the UK is in for a december election. I’m hoping to volunteer knocking on doors for my local Labour party candidate. If it happens would anyone be interested in a thread of the trials and tribulations of an english door knocker? No idea how interesting it would be but presumably there’d be some amusing stories along the way?
If it’s a thread all about how dumb your average voter is that I can read and feel superior about (which it will be) then I’m in.
The difference is a car is not responsible for the debt on it. These companies are.
Final season of GoT says it will suck for sure.
Try telling the lender that they can’t collect from you because the debt is owned by the car.
So like. It is not a coincidence that GoT started sucking when the dragons and the related CGI budget started seeping in. Obviously the fact that they blew past the books was the main problem, but leaning on big set piece action scenes and blowing people away with expensive visuals instead of writing was a large contributing factor imo.
This just seems like such a terrible choice, out of all of the possible points in history.
I’ll eat my words if they do something brave like never show the actual battles.
Well unlike the final season it won’t be written by Beavis and Butthead, so there’s still hope. Unlike GoT, the source material here is not really fertile ground imo. Fire and Blood is written like a historical account, not a lot of characterisation, it’s just like “then this side did this, then there was a battle, then they burnt down these villages for supporting the other side” etc etc. I think if the show tries to focus on the claimants and just do a blow by blow of their battle for the throne, it’ll be terrible, but if they want to do a more character focused story they’ll have to come up with one from scratch.
Edit:
I don’t think you can separate the two, they were one and the same problem. The focus of ASOIAF is putting characters in situations where they must choose between two things important to them and seeing what they do. Doing this plausibly requires careful writing; not only did the showrunners not do this, they didn’t even try, or even realise that that was how the series works. My pet example is Arya training with the Faceless Men; in the books she’s still there and it’s apparent that the choice she must make is between her identity as Arya Stark and what she most desires, which is power, agency, the ability to work violence against her enemies. As soon as they blew past the books the show was just like WHY NOT BOTH?, they just didn’t get the setup at all.
Yep. They should have done the Dunk and Egg stories imo.
And also Jane Goldman has made stuff that doesn’t suck. And Ryan Condal has made Colony, which did suck. And a movie that The Rock couldn’t save. And that’s it? So they’ve axed the more interesting premise with the better writers. Fuck.
