The problem is not enough people vote. The people that don’t vote either don’t care or don’t realize their votes count.
I suspect Roth is next. If he goes, then Magary is out the door, and the site dies the instant that happens.

Also, the tiny STICK TO SPORTS in the corner of the thumbnail image to every article now.
I’ll laugh if Magary goes to The Ringer considering how much he shits on Simmons.
I applied for a pt dishwasher position at Texas Roadhouse a couple weeks ago but did not receive a call back. And they were lookin for someone!
If they want to do it the way Mitt Romney made all his money they have no intention of even trying to make Deadspin better, it’s just a vehicle to load up with debt while they give themselves as much cash as they possibly can before declaring bankruptcy and walking away.
Don’t worry guys senator Burr is on the story of the day

You all really can’t just let one go can you.
That’s a shame. Naomi Watts has been among my favorites ever since her star performance in Mulholland Drive, and to a lesser extent, Peter Jackson’s King Kong. She also did a good job in Funny Games, tho it’s hard to top the original, and she excelled in The Impossible, a little-seen movie with Ewan McGregor where they play parents of a family caught in a tsunami while in Thailand.
And while I think Weiss and Benioff struggle with original content, I’d have been ecstatic for a new creative team to explore other stories in the ASoIaF universe.
Are you looking for work??
I just wanted to see if they would hire me mostly but I put my actual education and XP on the application so I assume they thought I was joking. I would have taken the job just to experience it though
I know it happens, but how does it work? I just don’t see how you bankrupt a company you own while simultaneously making millions off that same company.
Convince an idiot bank to loan the company money based on historical financials. Put the loan dollars in your personal account. Call it a “management fee” or “financing fee” or “LOL Deutche Bank fee.” Fire everyone and put company in BK.
The part I don’t get is how banks could be this stupid.
I know this is a crazy suggestion but I think there might be individuals who could benefit from such a scheme by approving loans in return for favors down the line.
I am not sure how that survives the courts. All sorts of people on scholarship earn outside money now. Targeting just athletes is a hate crime.
Edit: also reading comments on ap tweet it is amazing how many dummies make the same point of “they make money now revoke their scholarship” like there aren’t a bajillion scholarships given to people who make money/work outside of athletics.
Doesn’t the above occur pretty much everywhere to some degree, even in countries less corrupt than the U.S.?
You don’t think that restaurant in Goodfellas set itself on fire, do you?
Well McCain/Feingold was a step in the right direction to at least try to slow down the firehose of corporate and dark money buying off politicians. But Roberts was more scared of a country run by minorities. Can’t have that.
No, no, it was simple human error.
Also found this and uh…
My point was more general, in that I can’t imagine that there are many (any?) countries in which an extremely wealthy person/entity would not be able to get some face time with government leaders.
Ok? So just go back to sleep I guess.
That guy who runs Murray Coal Production or whatever it’s call is staying on as company chairman despite filing for bankruptcy. Even when they fail unintentionally they get to keep making money
