I had Chelsea 5th going into the year, they really need a goal scorer. Close to signing Aubameyang, but a 33 year old ain’t it.

Last year buying Lukaku for 100 million, selling Abraham for 40, then loaning back lukaku for free and also selling werner is just such awful business/decline in goal scoring threat

Looking fragile on both sides when Chelsea break but a fantastic half.

I like our keeper

The EPL season is 4 and a half hours old and a Chelsea forward has still not scored.

Magnificent performance. Kristenson and LB are worrying but nitpicking on a glorious day.

did not expect tryhard aaronson to do so well. lol epl

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BBC Sport: "Everything that can go wrong, did go wrong. It started yesterday. We had no plane to arrive so we came on the bus. The players could fly but for the coaching staff it was a long ride on the bus. It continued today. We lost the game in the first 20 minutes, where we were clearly better and had huge chances. A lot of touches in the box but we miss the target and do not take what we deserve. We then stopped doing what we were doing good and it was even for 15 minutes and in those we gave two presents.

"We were clearly the better team. They do what they do. I don’t see that a set-piece and own goal [Mendy’s mistake] are due to the style. They are mistakes.

“If we give goals away like this that are totally unnecessary and when we are totally in charge we cannot win football matches. We tried second-half and I am disappointed we lost that half as well. They made the maximum of their half-chances and we did not.”

Lot to dislike about Tuchel. Much of it encapsulated here.

“Multifarious” not a bad description.

I basically take the same approach with this sport that I do with all sports.

  • No favorite team, but some teams I hate.
  • Generally cheer for underdogs.
  • Will laugh when meme things happen like Manchester United’s LOL start.
  • Will root for USA national team, but won’t be too distraught unless they lose to a very unlikable team.

Not a good two weeks for him

VAR just seems so arbitrary. That’s a high tackle clearly not going for the ball so how is a red an obvious and clear error?

Edit to add. If KdB goes off cos Trip caught him in slightly different place where he can’t carry on that decision doesn’t change.

Trippier red card absolutely should have stood. Knee high challenges without hope for the ball from the side/behind shouldn’t be allowed at all without a red.

I clarified as a single pivot. He’s fine with help around

Tuchel giving off spoiled brat vibes. Klop is so much better, he will always go out of his way to make excuses for the other team playing poorly.

i know just ribbing ya a little. Was really impressed with him today

Yeah Tuchel gives me more competent Trump vibes. I’m a Chelsea fan, but won’t root for them (well I’ll root for Pulisic, Mount, Kante, etc. individually) until he’s gone. I like pretty much everyone on the team, so sucks I can’t want them to win.
