Elon Musk: Dork MAGA

SpaceX had a spectacularly successful day. Like 1950s science fiction stuff. So after the FAA folded and gave them everything they wanted here is Elon’s minion displaying his gratitude.

Is the bird murdering thing supposed to be crooked like that?

Yes, and it’s a perspective thing. The birds are WAY in the foreground, that is zoomed in from miles away.

So conflicted on the space X news. It’s so cool from a science perspective but fuck Elon so hard. Grrrrr

Bigly this. But, if it makes you feel any better, the nerds doing the actual science aren’t him.

But they are enriching him and making him look good and bleh yah fucking horseshit is right.

Still some sick engineering that makes something that seems impossible look like magic.

Behind almost every major technological achievement is some asshole billionaire getting richer off it. I guess that’s my weird way of saying I rationalize it by realizing I only care this case because Elon is so public about his assholery. Therefore I shouldn’t care.

Wow! Not surprised they are having problems aiming the bird murdering device.

Or care about more, I guess. They can all go fuck themselves

Elon seems to have been pretty involved in the decision to pursue the tower catch:

I’m sure there’s some reason he deserves all the blame for the Cybertruck and none of the credit for this. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’ll figure something out.

He tweets 150x a day. It’s hard to imagine him having much time to spend on anything else.

I’d love to know the repair costs on that if you do it right and don’t bondo it.

Imagine being this stupid and still somehow having the cash to buy a cybertruck.

Getting xitter ads for some Elmo appearance in Pennsylvania.

Bondo is fine.

(eta: not for cybertruck - for painted metal)

If you want 16-year-old suzzer to fantasize about buying your '68 Camaro, it better have clean lines and no bondo.

But Bondo is what old cars crave!

Old cars crave not being wrecked and not living in places where they put salt on the roads.

Bondo is still used by professional body shops, but I think it has a bad rep because:

  1. DIYers doing a less than perfect job

  2. In the disposable culture where parts are cheap and skiilled labor is expensive it’s more often cheaper to replace a whole panel than to use filler.

One of the cars at our high school was called the Bondomobile. Not a compliment.
