Sorry. I just can’t buy that republicans are done with trump. We have heard this story before.
I’ll believe it when I see actual people in power saying this.

I agree. The only Republicans “done with Trump” are the ones that have access to the OpEd pages of the major newspapers and write for the Atlantic, etc. There’s hundreds of them, but millions of “attack Nancy with a hammer” Republicans. Once Donnie Dumb Dumb starts whipping them up its game over for the Done With Trump brigade.

Yep. The op-ed people care about electoral success. 99% of the MAGA crowd don’t care at all or really don’t even know if they won or lost. All they will hear is it was someone else’s fault other than Trump and on goes the cult of personality.

People tend not to care too much about electoral outcomes when their plan is “win or lose we’re seizing power”. That portion of the base is probably still growing.

It’s going to take a while. California could still be counting a week from now. Maybe two?
The Alaska race may take until November 23 with their ranked choice system. We’re an overwhelming favorite there, but if that’s the deciding race it’ll take awhile. CO-03 is also going to require a recount and there will be legal challenges most likely.
It would actually be kind of funny if Dems managed to keep it 217-217, there’s a chance the House Freedom Caucus would fuck up and vote present to block McCarthy and Pelosi would keep the gavel. Then if that didn’t work, they could nominate Liz Cheney and try to peel a few Republican votes off.
The potential for shenanigans in a 218-217 or 219-216 House are astronomical.
